It looks like a script was enabled today to use the old AD&D rule that druids cannot wear metal armor, so Mr. Eckert can no longer equip armor to customize it. This greatly reduces his effectiveness as a crafter which is one of his core functions as a character.

I guess I cannot build my character using the rules as I know them, so I need help.

His name needs to be Mr. Eckert.
He needs to have a dancing bear.
He needs to eventually be able to wear all types of armor.
At 40th level he still needs to be offensively weak but defensively tough. (That is his charm)

He is supposed to have the dancing bear before he arrives in town. It is a vehicle for explaining his introduction to humans which is where the resources will be to eventually work on his long term goal of building golems, using principles of anatomy and body mechanics learned from interacting with intelligent undead.

His intention before was 10Wiz/28 Palemaster/2 Druid.
This gives him 9th level spells with only 10th level spell power (includes durations, damage, and spell penetration, with the weak Bioware summons for compensation but nice for role play props)

(Yes, I acknowledge he will be immune to critical hits which is why I don't stop him at level 10, similar to the way I don't make shadowdancers that stop at level 1 or weaponmasters that stop at level 7.)

He is a neutral palemaster, which is much easier for a gnome to be than an evil one. Again, if there is some rule against this, I need to know.

I can do it with ranger instead of druid, though it means many more ranger levels which makes him a little more heroic than I'd like, but whatever it takes.

I guess the question is whether or not he can retain the name and not mess up the database. His first level is druid, so the character is a redo unless you can edit him in Leto or something similar.

Please let me know if this is at all possible.

Druid and Palemaster? I am no DM but I think any druid order would jump you on sight if they knew/felt that.

Friends,
We did restart the server today, as we found some scripts not firing properly. The reset seemed to clear a few things up and may be caused the druid-no-metal-armor system to kick in too (I did not know it was not functioning). We will review the scripts to discover the reason they were offline. Will confer with you soon to discuss rebuild of PC in some fashion.

Be well. Game on.

But wouldn't a druid order jump a palemaster or anyone else controlling undead on sight anyway? Kind of makes it a moot point.

Mr. Eckert never becomes an initiate of the 1st circle. He has no contact with the druids who trained him at the very beginning of his career. Also, it was not his decision to become a druid in the first place.

His backstory is found here:
