wooden stakes as weapons
Ok i has another suggestion ..
Ok so we have silver arrows and bolts,bullets for lycan hunters but... waht about vamp hunters?
I suggest that we get a option of a crossbow (I dont think a Longbow would work) that fires a wooden stake then we'd have long range vampire smiting!...
just a suggestion any other input is welcome

Good idea...............My only question, is the issue with vamps and were are they are so freaky fast if the want , I think they get a chance to catch the bolt like the monk deflect arrows? same with were?

Actually, I think wooden stakes can be made/then thrown at targets. IIRC vamp pcs can die in a single shot with one.

Would be nice to have wooden crossbow bolts as well. Splints can be made in stakes if need be.

So do you see staking vamps when they sleep during the day?
Cause as I said vampire if played right are perhaps the most dangerous foe in D&D.(undead plus prieveious player class plus immortal)
Not trying to shove my idea of vamps...........just courious how when they can catch most things if they choose or just move.
As we have Vamps as player charactures I was hoping to hear how these things are handled in game.

I .. yes taht is possible vampires would probaly be able to catch anything thrown at them.

Maybe not everything thrown at them especially if in rapid session and with a few peeps. To stake npc vamps during their sleep is fine but not pc's. That being said Some sort of weapons would be needed for any PVP and I am sure dice rolls for hits and saves and such wouldbe built in.

If you look back I softly suggested monk deflect arrows. Now a monk can be over whelmed ,the feat any way by the number of attacks headed their way.
My suggestion was some kind of mix.say two attackers one is a normal attack. based roughly on equal levels. Now the vamp is well above the players then say the ratio is increased in the favor of the vamp?
What ya think? this still addresses the speed of vamps and to be honest I suggest they be normally hasted..........just saying.
Even if you go back to the old rules which said to cast haste costs one year each time they are immortal unless killed so even then the one year is no issue.
Now the real question I think is how are we viewing vamps? like recent tv or movies? or the monester manuel

Get rest and have plenty of chicken soup and tea.
A valid point of how are we thinking of them and how the vamps were originally designed to play in game.
We have the Twilight version, Buffy and Angel version,Anne Rice version,Christopher Lee type(and others who played simular ways) and of course nosforatu the unfeeling inhuman monster type.

There is no need to make the already overpowered subrace more overpowered.

Lord Surge is right. What I've always said, is that we need to keep in mind the balance of the server, just as much as we need to keep in check of what makes sense and doesn't.

The point of the original message was to make weapons more effective against fighting them. Thats why the suggestion wof wooden bolts and arrows.
