Harakiri Option

Post  Valerion on Tue Aug 06, 2013 3:57 pm

I think we need a Harakiri or Suicide option in our runestones, if someone is jailed and does not have the right options to get out of there, it would enable them to leave the jail if there are no DMs or players online to help them out.

I believe there is a transition in there somewhere. Or at least used to be!

The whole point of jail is to punish people. Making an easy out is not a good idea.

Sometimes characters get stuck in there for longer time than they should be. I assume this is what Valerion is mentioning a solution to, LordSurge.

In one world I play in they have a command, "Kill me please." You go to the netherwolrd and lose 1000xp and any gold you have.

I believe Oda and Eri are wroking on a bondsman concept.

I do not think of an "easy out" solution to get out of jail in general, the problem is, if you are unlucky, your character gets stuck there until the next update/reset if no DM comes to get you out, since there is no guardsman, jailmaster or so to bribe, persuade or whatsoever to get out in general.

I know of no transition down there myself to get out, so far all the doors there are impossible to destruct or lockpick, I know of a trick how you get out of the cells but that is it, you are still stuck in the corridors as far as I know.

Yes that can be dicey but as I said Oda and eri working on a bondsman. You could send a tell to a player who knows the portal spell as they can scry you and port you and get you out. I think if we had the death option losing 1000 xp for a strt good enough deterent from over using it. I do not know if there is a way to track when someone would use this but maybe after two times, the xp loss gets to 2000xp.

There are also some bugs in regards to npc whoch could inadvertnly cause you to become jailed. If you feel sich a thing, then report it in the bug forum.
