Bathing and Cleaning

Post  Animayhem on Fri Nov 15, 2013 1:04 pm

It seems the bathes have been turned off thus causing the cleab spell to clean and not remove soot. It has also rendered the baths unusable.

Oda fixed this by modifying the dye code. However today his character Daht was singed due to fireball and I was able to remove it when I cast cleaning spell on him. He didn't have to get nekkid either!

I may cast fireball again and test it on A'rys.

Friends,
I think it was never broken. User error.

MOST LIKELY CAUSE:

PC already IN trigger when disrobes. Remember, your PC must ENTER the water trigger while naked, else it will not work.

Be well. Game on.

Well I was naked when it didnt work the first tome and when I used the sponge it said I was not wet enough tp get clean. Where Charia did bathe worked.

It could be possible only some bath areas are broken. If one does not work we can try another and report the ones that do not. Smile

Friends,
I am uncertain that one could be non-functional and the others functional; they all use the same script and the same trigger. My thoughts are thus: there is a text you see when you enter the water trigger - meant as a heads-up for the PLAYER - you must be naked when you see that text else, back out of the trigger, THEN get naked and enter the trigger again. When you enter the trigger it checks for your nakedness and marks you ok to bathe or not. If you enter the trigger then get naked, it will not work. When I observed you in the module two days back and you were shocked to see it work properly, I noted that you were IN the trigger while stripping off your items, so I ported you back out of the trigger to where I was, and you re-entered naked only to find it working properly. This all adds up to it not working for the reasons stated; you were in the trigger while stripping. Watch for the heads-up text that alerts you to being near enough to the water to bathe, let me know if it fails again please.

My apologies if it is confusing at times ... we keep things minimal here, one water trigger pretty much does it all, and it surrounds the water source at a margin to allow (for example) fishing and canteen filling; this is where the heads-up comes into play and is very helpful.

Be well. Game on.

maybe the triggers might be larger than the pool and thus makes it harder to see the barriers of the actual trigger, making them as large as the pool might help

General FYI:

Water triggers are larger than the actual water so that your PC can (for example) walk up near the water's edge and fish or fill a canteen (in the baths you won't catch anything in the former case and the drink is rather nasty in the latter - but this is why the triggers are larger than the water). Generally the triggers extend beyond the water by about 3 meters.

The clean spell does not remove soot from fireball spell even if you cast while naked.

It is not just the spell the baths do not work either. Right after I went into the entrance I stripped A'rys naked and used all the baths nothing happened.
I tired the bathing sponge but it said you are not wet enough to use it meaning it did not recognize the bath as a bath.

So A'rys still looks like a drow so until its fixed rp her look as medium skintone caucasian. Very Happy
