Darkness Mod (Master Server List)

Due to the loss of the master Server i decided to put together a modified NWNPlayer file. This modified file will allow you to access a number of the more popular NWN servers from your Multiplayer menu as if the Master server had not gone down. It also allows NWN to (theoretically) access twice the ram it was previously able to do and with the added bonus being adjustable by the in game menu options just like the original file!

I have left the CPU access settings at default as different PC's will have different settings however you can easly set the CPU affinity to your core number to access this like before. I plan on seeing how i can optimize the game settings & including it in a later version of this download but for now consider this as the 1.0 version. Also worth saying that the list is found in your "favorites" tab.

Actually very little is changed as far as true settings. Even calling it a mod is a stretch as its more of a pre-compiled list of RP servers that can be accessed through the old client's favorites list. The only other changes made are essentially superficial such as giving NWN access to 1GP of ram rather than the former 256MB that was standard. I have actualy updated that link once already with a file that can be read more easily by the NWN engine as it seem to have a hard time digesting my naming system and kept demanding the standard one.

All in all its pretty much just a standard NWNPlayer file that i have altered to contain a list of mods as well as some updates to modern hardware since ram is no longer such a scarce & expensive commodity.



Also, the file can be read & altered using a standard text editor so no hidden secrets... Just a standard INI set to more modern hardware specs & a server list.   

Hey, sorry for ressurrecting this trend but... is the download still avaiable? I mean, in some other site? That one isn't downloading.

i would have to recompile it...

It was essentially a precompiled list of servers along with a adjustment to how much ram nwn could access to go along with modern pc's. ill see about getting a new link up if i can.
