Unusual Activity: Dohral

Toman's shield smashed against the bars of the cage with a resounding clang of metal on magic. He barely saw the an crush what looked to be a red gem stone, before he was suddenly trapped behind invisible bars.  

Busy trying to discover the scope of his imprisonment, Tom wasn't concerned with Saber's clothes being ruined, knocking his shield against the area around him, judging the height and scale of the cage by the thrums of magic reacting to the blows.

"I'd- " clang " be more concerned abou'-" clang "What he meant by 'arcane resonance'" clang.

Tom paused, and frowned as he came full circle, putting away his shield and getting out a simple sling and stone bullet, aiming it at the sky above his head. When the stone flies away into the distance to land close by, Tom grunts with satisfaction.

"There's a fair few beasts that come out at night that might be drawn to that."  The watchmen puts away the sling, and feels in front of him until he can wrap his hands around one of the unseen bars, and begins to climb uncertainly, cloak fluttering nervously, "What the hell did ye do to piss him off?"

"I was.. in a dog form. and well he was in a wolf and well I peed on him, simple as, it was a joke.."
He sighs and shrugs it was going to be ones of those times wasn't it?...

Tom pauses as he seems to reach the top of the cage, appearing to float a little higher than Saber's head and looking rather unsteady as he has to guess whee his supports are.

"So... ye're saying that I may have pissed off another damn crazy mage, defending ye... because ye pissed on him."

The watchman drops down, and glares at the shifter through his visor, "Should have let him punch ye."

"Saber, ye're cooking would just make things worse. Don't think I forgot about that damn mushroom stew."

Toman sighs, looking the other man up and down, the neon green paint making saber stand out like a noble in the slums.

"Ye going to shift, or change, or what?" The man turns round to start walking with out getting a reply, "We don't have time to deal with all ye're personal feuds."

*Saber looks himself over for a second, reminded him of that tim- no not now sighing his form shifts and cracks to the form of a dog, a malmute, his usual dog form~ it looks at toman and barks happily*

"sooo now what, and I totally could of called down a rain storm to clean me off but.. effort, enought of that, what is our next step?.. Appease the crazy wizard lyc-errr man.. or what?.."

*currently the dog looked scruffy and tired, clearly reflecting saber himself, who knows how long it's been since he last slept?*

While there is no green paint actually on the dog, Toman can't quite help but notice a green tinge to its fur.

The wind shifts, and carries to Saber (and his enhanced catdog senses) the voices and scents of two men conversing.

"Ye sure the boys were right about this? I mean he was marked green, but that there's a dog not a cat."

"Oi, s' not your place to question. B'sides, a dog is just as useful as a cat."

There is a definitive twang, and then a bolt buries headfirst into the stone street to Saber's left.  As the second man begins reloading, the first man fires, scoring a glancing blow to the side of the dog's hindquarters.

The wound is enough to bleed without being too serious, although a distinct burning is felt along it's length.

The first man beats a hasty retreat while the other man charges holding a large knife and a net.

Toman heard the voices float towards them with a frown, but it was only when a bolt broke against the cobbles that he stopped walking. When another pierced Saber's leg, Tom acted as quick as he could to try and move between his friend and the on coming man.

He had a good idea of what they were up to. 'Fetches' got a high price in the black market in the maze below. He drew his bastard sword for this scuffle, a myriad of enchantments dancing up and down the blade. A gift from Saber in fact.

"What the hell do ye think ye doing, attacking my dog?!"

Saber jumped as the first bolt missed, and whined as the second on pierced him, it burnt~ Silver! hells he was out of yulnslime too! HE looked at the man, growling, He's not an easy target to capture, nor would they get away with trying to capture him , with the snapping of bone he shifted back Glaring at the man with the net, mutter a few word, vine grew up out of the stones and ensnared him, holding him fast.

" Damn you, he sent you did he, well tell him, i'm not easy prey,nor am I Ever pray."He winced and grabbed his leg, he needed to get teh silver out and casting something to let the wound heal over wasnt going to help him in the long run
"tom, I think that bolt had silver, or was silver tipped, interrogate that man then help me find someone that can brew a substance called yulnslime, maybe A'rys would help me, or the priestess charia... I dont want to let this silver stay for too long."
His tail flicked in a annoyance, the had esclated quickly, maybe the man would accept a card?...

//Sorry i havnt mentioned his tail till now but IC'ly he has one, just an update caused it to vanish, and ALL infectious werecats grow tails *nods*

The man is stopped fast, and struggles against his bindings. He had not made it very far, and stands perhaps 8 feet away from them.

Thinking quickly on his feet, he throws the net at Saber, who is thrown off balance (but not to the ground) and prevented from further action (except movement) until freed.

The man also smashes a smoke bomb against the street, covering his immediate area with a thick fog.

Toman coughs as the smoke filters in through his helm, hampering his vision. He saw the net hurled at Saber, and the vines attack the man's legs. This was a lot of effort to go through, to get a fetch... There might be something deeper going on here- or Tom underestimated how much 'trained' werecats were. Not wanting to get any closer to the vines, Toman works on freeing Saber.

"No bloody respect for the watch. Saber can ye shift into something smaller to get out of there?"

" I can.... Try" He panted, that tony was going to alot of effort, had something so meager really annoyed him that badly?Closing his eyes saber shifted to teh form of a snake, slithered out of the net and shifted back. grabbing a bandage from his bag he wraps his wound and coughs, look up and glaring to where he though the man would be.

The smoke clears, leaving the man bent over and hacking with a knife at the thick roots that sprouted through the stones.
He glances up and after spotting Saber already out from under the net, stands back up. Then glances at Toman, gives him a rather rude gesture, then throws the knife in his hands at him, which sails past his head. He then attempts to pull his legs free, which are stuck fast.

He shrugs, then says "What?"

Tom watches the knife sail by, and then stares at Saber.

"It doesn't feel right just killin' a man. Not that I want to bother taking him to the jail. Bloody ridiculous watchmen don't get the port stone- wait, didn't ye say ye had some?"

Toman frowns at the bandage around Saber's leg. The man didn't seem a threat at all to be honest- unless he had on of those damn wands used to spirit away werecats. Hell if Tom wanted to search the whole bloody maze to get the shifter back. Although he never found out where that island was...

Saber grins to Tom first, then stares at the man
"sure he can go to jail, but not yet I have questions, for him, like what hit my leg, who sent him, why he was sent and maybe more after that."
He sighed it was going to be a long night it seemed. Why did everything seem to go wrong for him?

He stands there, staring at the pair silently....

"Ye can't question him in the bloody open." Toman sighs, before moving forward to attack the man- hopefully knock him out or at least restrain him.

--> If he succeeds Toman would then move to the nearest ally, and let Saber question him, while making sure the druid doesn't get too carried away.

--> If other wise... well. We'll see.

Saber just nods to tom, nothing was ever easy, his tail flicked, why did this feel off, Like it was a setup, maybe not all of it.. but still.
He just glance around, looking for anything out of place, his eyes had already adjusted to the dark.

At this point the roots holding him there having begun to dry. They hold him for now, though not for long.

At Toman's approach, he reaches behind his back for another smoke bomb and drops it in between him and Toman, but close enough to himself that they are both enveloped.

Meanwhile, Saber sees the second man from earlier lob something towards him as he charges forward holding a bundled up net and something else in his other hand. The smoke bomb lands and Saber loses track of the charging man.

Toman tries to remember where the man stood as yet more smoke enveloped them. Finshi curse their mother's balls.

First sign of movement near him, he's punching it. Then maybe stabbing it. Saber can take care of himself. This was all his fault anyway.

saber crouches down, think about the situation, one man, net in hand, charging, one man, roots tied ready to hit, and toman, caught up in it all, a spell would leave him open, his eyes had adjusted and his tail flicked, he crouched thinking, the world seemed to slow a moment, hrm.. maybe, shift form to rat, run past man, shift back, whip attack other man, and change to bird, flapping smoke away, there were too many flaws in that, but what else could he do, unless?...Saber grinned, he was a sneaky person and they had given him all he needed, he grinned and jumped to the left, hiding away in the smoke, waiting to strike.
If the man ran by, he grab his neck and break it, if his did something else saber would have to adapt on the spot, yet inn all this he could only think one thing.
"However this goes, it WILL be fun!"

Saber closes his eyes, focusing on sound and the feel of the wind. The man hurls his net at the space where Saber was, and Saber reaches out for a grab and manages to grab the man from behind in a headlock. The man struggles to get free, but you are able to hold him.

Toman meanwhile, charges forward blindly towards the trapped man, stumbles over unseen roots and ends up tackling the man, breaking him free.

Saber sighs, tonight he will not kill not unless he must, he tightens his grip, hoping to knock the man out.

Not quite what Toman had planned, but at least he knew where the other man was now.

Toman makes good on his promise to start punching people.
