question on throwing.

Post  BenevolentDevil on Wed Dec 17, 2014 11:15 am

I have no idea If nwn Supports it because I never tried it... But can Characters specialize in thrown weapons?
Is there ways here to speed up or specialize in throwing Other things... Say like acid flask or non weapon attack items?

Acid flasks are items, So other than haste, no real way to speed them up, at least not that i know of, As for throwing weapons, you mean throwing axe and shurikins? I dont think so, but i'm have to check now.

Yeah. I was thinking About a character that might be naturally adept at throwing. Mediocre or low skill in almost any other aspect.

Shuriken, darts and throwing axes, you can have WF on all of those three.

Used this build on Alestorm in its hayday. Worked for me great and hopefully works for you too.

I applaud any halfling build, though the RDD is a special class and has RP / IC requirements

That one actually starts and ends pretty balanced, my main problem with the stats would have to be the intelligence, with 8 int means you'd have (at the least) a speech problem until level 28. I don't even know how'd you go about becoming a disciple without even being able to speak Draconic Very Happy

Aaaand throwing axes are heavy, too heavy actuallly, they pack a punch yes, but its hard to carry too many of them. If you're going into the build, 100% weight reduction bags are a must-have. Besides, there's the RP problem, as Ragdoll said.

Traditionally, throwing axes are meant to soften-up the foe from a distance (maybe fell the target too), but the axe-thrower usually has a second more close-fighting weapon to finish off the target if needed. What's needed is the ability to recover the thrown axes (or other ammo) maybe with a breakage test.

In TES you have a higher chance of recovering used arrows based on your Marksman skill, perhaps give rangers a better chance to recover, with additional bonuses for WF in the weapon (bow, crossbow, throwing items)
