[OOC] name is auto generated from NWN character creation. I couldn't find much on the history and what not for this world, so I used faerun, stuff can be easily changed as this only took a couple of hours to whip up. the final ooc item is legality of this character, as it has blue skin and green hair, and isn't exactly a normal elf, although it has no special powers or anything.[/OOC]

these entries are in some unusual script:

The pixie has brought me this empty book to write in, much like the keepers did for prospective students in their craft. As I record my thoughts here I will gain insight in how this place effects my mind, and through that achieve the fundamental nature of the magic of this place, just like when I first started so long ago. I should put down what has already happened thus far. When I first spawned here I was in a place with what I had thought was a graveyard, but it was simply a forest, the headstones were simply trees. When I approached this body's kin I discovered two very important lessons, the first is that this body resembles a person of their kind named 'Drow,' who as it would seem from their mixed aggression and protectiveness of their children that he is a rather feared marauder. The second lesson I learned is that this body is no mere illusion or other trick, I bled profusely, but more importantly I can be hurt in a very dissimilar fashion than I can normally be hurt, and am truly at a loss as to which is more unpleasant. Afterwords is when I met the pixie, or rather she met me, as I had lost consciousness, I didn't even realize I had lost it, but when I awoke I was in the forest, along the path I was fleeing along. It would seem that she had nursed me back to health, and while I did not understand her at first, in time I learned her language and was able to converse. She came and went as her duties to the forest allowed her to, and in that time I learned much about this body, like how and what i can eat, or that I have the ability to trance, but not sleep (perhaps that power couldn't be stripped?). I also studied the workings of the world around me, and found it to be not too dissimilar from my own world, at least in function. Some of the things I have observed the pixie has shared insights into these as to their role in the forest, although she says there are some things that have no job and just is. In fact this book came from one of those things, so I shall go to it and see what i can learn from it.

It would appear that the thing that this book came from is a being like the ones this body belongs to. It was similar to others I have met in many ways, but there were also plenty of differences as well. For one thing this being wore solid shiny clothing, and it carried a wrist mounted decoration of the same material. It was slow and rather unsteady compared to the others, perhaps it is sick? It also knew of the marauder which I resemble now, as it called out to me rather angrily as I left it in its domain. It was far more vocal as well, saying a great deal of things I did not understand, I shall have to ask the pixie if she knows how to speak to it.

The pixie says that although it is a language, she cannot speak it. It would seem that speaking to the creature might be helpful, so I have been trying to figure out some way of getting close without it noticing so I can hear it speak some more.

Success! It is nomadic and quite messy as well, it hacks through the forest to aid its hampered movement, leaving a trail that is fairly easy to follow at a distance, I shall follow it back to it's den and hopefully get to hear it conversing with others of its kind.

I have set up a hearing device to hear from far enough away so that I won't attract attention, it also lives in a domain and not a den. And while I can hear its domain it is doubtful I will hear it speak, for it lives well within its domain, and many others live towards the outer edges of the domain.

How could I not see it before? The language is a simple alphabetic composite, based around limited variations of a few key letters. I bet they even have a written language as well, of course the downside of an alphabetic composite language is that once you crack the from it takes time to identify various meanings of the different constructs, so I have been listening and learning the many words of their language. The society is quite primitive as it focuses much of the work towards a single individual, whom they fear and follow. I have been singling out a single individual's voice around to study their thought process.

Lucy (the young lady I have been listening to) seems to have an interest in a boy name Mark, but Mark likes Martha, and Martha likes Jon. It would seem Lucy is of a rather low caste, but both Mark and Martha are in the same caste, and Jon is in an even higher caste. Martha has recently found a way to get Jon's interest, even if only temporarily, but it involves some sort of immoral behavior. It would be good to find a way to observe this immoral behavior so as to understand what these people feel is morale and immoral.

It would seem that Lucy has decided to do to Mark whatever it is that Martha is doing to Jon, I overheard Jon talk about his interactions with Martha, and he is getting something of great value from her, without her getting proper compensation. I wonder if Lucy will get proper compensation?

Lucy and Mark are interested in each other, whatever the trick is it seems to work quite well, perhaps it is something I can use to get a dialog going. I might get my opportunity to see what this trick is, as Lucy is going to meet Mark at a small lake nearby (and outside the creatures' domain) tonight. The hold is powerful over Mark, as it seems that the trick deserves some sort of compensation, which Mark gives, but would prefer to give to Martha instead.

I met the pixie on the way to the lake, and we talked about the problem Mark is facing and of this trick. She said that she knew of those that could do something similar, but was unaware that these creatures could do any of those tricks. She was intrigued as well, so we both set off for the lake.

Well the trick is puzzling indeed. When they showed up we stayed out of sight, the pixie was able to keep a closer eye on what was happening than me. The talked about how bad they were being and how much trouble they could get into if they were caught, then began to disrobe (it seems that not all of these creatures wear hard shiny clothing as well). During this process they embraced and tried to suck the essence from each other in small sips. Once finally disrobed, they began to mate in a similar fashion to that of forest creatures. At this point the pixie said that she understood, and that it was just normal mating for these creatures and nothing more. I explained that it must be more due to the fact that it was effecting even my mind, even though I wasn't the target. I explained that at long last I had found some magic of this world. The pixie was quite angered at this and abruptly left after a few brief words of anger. With the spell clouding my judgment I stepped out to ask the couple directly about this magic. Mark saw me first and dropped Lucy and backed away, but didn't run. Lucy saw me second and scrambled back toward Mark, the spell seemed to break at this point and I realized that I could be in great trouble if I failed to explain myself. I said that i wasn't going to hurt either of them I was just curious about the spell she was invoking. Mark looked ashamed, and Lucy began to cry, I doubt I used the proper words. I explained all that I learned (rather hastily), and Mark began to cry and run off towards the creatures domain, and Lucy ran off in the other direction. What a disaster, now I might have to run from many creatures again, and I still knew little of the spell that was used. I searched through the clothes for anything that might shed some light, but there was nothing of note, so I laid them out neatly and ran off towards Lucy. After quite some time, with no sign of her I sat down to rest.

The pixie came to me with a different sort of fire in her eyes than what she left with last night. She was berating me on my tactlessness of stepping out in front of those creatures, and that now there is a large force combing the forest in an effort to find and slay me. I told her about the spell and said how it had effected me, but she simply retorted that lust is no excuse. I asked her if that meant that my species was similar to hers, and she said that for purposes of lust it was (perhaps they are magical variants of my body's species?). After some thought I said that we must make sure that no harm came to anyone due to my foolishness. She looked bewildered for a moment then with the same tone in her voice as last night she asked what I meant by that. I said that the group must be harmed by the things in the forest, and she replied that such a large group has little to fear from things in the forest. I then stated that all that remained was the safe return of the two children, at this she said that the boy is not in the forest. I pointed out that there were two children, and she said that the girl was going to learn a lesson. With much more inquiry I discovered that Lucy was in danger from a bear, as she had stumbled into its cave. I set out immediately, and found her asleep a little ways in. I gently woke her and told her of the danger, but she didn't seem to understand, and backed further in. The bear awoke and would have finished both of us off, if the pixie hadn't intervened. Lucy was missing from her body after that, so I brought her with me, much to the pixie's anger.

Lucy's body seemed to still know how to eat and walk, but not talk, so it was a quiet day after so many days of listening to the creatures language. In fact the pixie hasn't left since she came back after she had left after the incident with the bear, but she too wasn't speaking to me.

I caught Lucy's body trying to cast the same spell on me as Lucy did to Mark, in fact if the pixie hadn't finally spoken to me (she still hasn't left) I would have commenced with my part of the ritual. I think she figured something out, since she said (still with the anger of the lake) “I thought as much!” Lucy's body cried softly after that for a little while.

Lucy's mind is still gone, though her body is still in good working order. I wonder if a new mind is going to inhabit the body? This is quite a curious situation, even more so since the pixie hasn't left and rarely says anything, maybe another mind has inhabited the pixie? Though that wouldn't explain the fact that the pixie still has the same anger from that night at the lake.

It has been some time since I had last wrote in the journal, since little has changed in much time, but today Lucy asked if she were going to be sacrificed. I was rather puzzled by the question, but it did start a conversation with her, during which I have surmised that she did not in fact lose her body, but was simply terrified into mindless submission.

Lucy began the day by asking if I had any intention of mating with her, and while I had not thought of such, the question caught me off guard. After continuing along this line of conversation I discovered that that the 'spell' was simply my hormones acting up, and that her attempt to 'bewitch' me was purely because she thought that it would keep her from getting killed. I have yet to figure out why the pixie hangs around and only says an angered comment here and there.

these entries are in common:

Lucy has shown me the alphabet of her species today, the letter construction process was fairly simple after that. She was amazed at my progress and when I explained that I was a great mage in another life she was quite skeptical, so I told her the tale of how I worked hard to get chosen for the trials to become a member of the Ichor Magocracy. The pixie listened intently as well, it seems puzzling as it isn't too uncommon among those chosen for he trials, nor does it have a proper end or any thrilling twists or turns.

Lucy told her tale of how she grew up, I found it a delightful tale, even though it had no twists and turns or a proper ending. I had thought that it might be akin to some sort of spell as a similar thing happened to both the pixie and Lucy yesterday. When i asked the pixie about it she claimed that I was simply being controlled by my lust, and that the story was told with an unspoken wish to return. I asked if maybe her wish to return linked our souls since a part of me wishes to return to my land as well. The pixie showed the same anger as she did at the lake, but did not leave or make comments. I found it odd that with such anger towards me she did not leave as she used to, and her answer was that I was a 'blind fool.'

I asked Lucy about the wish to return, and even offered to help her return. She cried softly, and said that she should have never used Mark's lust to get him to like her, because it is a crime to do so in her town. I told her about what I heard about Jon not giving Martha what she was due and that Mark did seem to give whatever it was that Lucy was due. Lucy cried harder at this, and said that Mark was a good man, and that she shouldn't return even if it wasn't a crime, because now if she did then Mark wouldn't be able to pursue Martha when Jon dumps her and moves on. I think I now know what that whole mess was about.

Lucy says that we should head to a temple of 'Mystra,' located in a place called 'Waterdeep' so that I can continue my study 'properly' as she says. She says that my appearance won't cause as much problems there as most, which makes sense, after all there has to be a limit to this Drow's territory. I talked with the pixie about it, as she hasn't seemed to stray to far from me since that day with the bear, and she is scared about the prospect of leaving the forest that she knows, but says that it sounds logical, and that she must accompany me. I am confounded as to why she needs to stay with me, but nonetheless both say it is a good idea so we are going to leave in the morning.

4/24/1310 We are making good progress, and Lucy has been explaining how her species measures time, as it turns out I am much older than she is, at 28 years, and she is at 14 years. Perhaps the magic that made her species from my body's species also accelerated her species growth?

4/26/1310 We have hit the edge of the forest, a most disturbing and barren landscape awaits this leg of the journey. The pixie shows signs of reluctance to leave, but still she insists on following.

4/29/1310 We came across a strange man today of the same species as Lucy, muttering to himself in yet another language. He seemed rather old and decrepit, although he is a bit more steady than the man in hard clothes, maybe the clothes are a penance? He seemed enamored with Lucy, and kept staring at her chest for some reason. We must be getting out of Drow's territory, as the man didn't attack at all.

4/30/1310 Lucy says she can get me papers with spells on them from the strange man! Maybe I won't have to venture to far in this barren place. I wonder how she will get spells from him, and why they would be put on paper?

5/01/1310 Lucy is off meeting with the strange man, she said she had to go alone. I have this strange feeling, but the pixie just says it is my hormones again. She says that I should have expected as much since I didn't clothe my pet. I wonder what my pet is, so I can clothe it in the future.

5/10/1310 I have waited for her return for a long time, and even now the pixie is worried. Tomorrow I am going to see the strange man and ask where Lucy has gone to.

5/11/1310 The pixie begged me not to go, but I went anyway. The strange man is a mage of this world and needed a 'virgin sacrifice' for a spell he was researching, he was most most upset that she wasn't a 'virgin' as she had claimed to be. He accused me of mating with her, but I told him that I had not. He stated that he knew for a fact that she had mated, and I told him that she had indeed mated with another of her species named Mark. He rage subsided at this, and claimed to have made a mistake, he then gave me a lock of hair and said cryptically that the temple can give her back to me.

5/12/1310 The pixie said that it might be rather expensive for the temple to get her back. I know not where she has gone that needs a temple to get her, nor do I know of what currency I need to pay with. The pixie isn't giving me much answers, I will go to the strange man tomorrow and ask him.

5/13/1310 The pixie was worried that if went that the strange man might make me go too, and that I might not be able to get back on my own, and that I still might not be able to find Lucy. I went any way, how could I abandon Lucy? The man wasn't very happy at me returning, and wouldn't speak to me until he heard that I was from a place of strange magic and couldn't use my powers. He agreed to help me with getting Lucy back and even teach me some magic if I teach him what I knew of the magic from where I came from. I was pretty happy and agreed wholeheartedly. Strangely the pixie wasn't too happy.

8/29/1310 I haven't had much time to write, I have been busy trying to grasp all the concepts that he has been talking to me about. I have learned a couple of minor tricks involving some sort of magical force. His texts that he reads is in some sort of strange language, he claims that it is important for mages of this place.

3/03/1312 He seems to be getting frustrated at his inability to grasp the simplest of concepts of my native magic. I have been worried about the length of time might make it harder to find Lucy, but he assures me that the window is quite large.

2/01/1315 He says I have made decent progress, and I do say that he is right. I have learned many simple tricks, but I forget the details of them the moment I do them. He says it is normal and I shouldn't concern myself with it.

8/04/1321 He has made his first breakthrough today. Without the surrounding magics to create the effect he would normally feel it was a bit anticlimactic, but he is thrilled nonetheless. Watching him cast his magic doesn't strike me as the most efficient way to learn this world's magics, as it seems to be base on a complex system of flow and weave.

6/30/1329 I copied a page from one of his books so that I can learn the language in while he wasn't looking, it bothers me that he hasn't taught me the language, since he says it is so important. The pixie agrees, and says he is holding back as much as he can.

7/02/1329 I got a chance to study the language while he slept yesterday, and it turns out to be the simplest language I have yet encountered on this world, I am anxious to read more in this language.

9/22/1329 I have read quite a bit, but some writing I can't seem to read. It looks familiar, but I still can't seem to read that language. I copied a page so I can study this new language.

9/26/1329 I have learned to read it, well, sort of. I 'read' it and I remember one of the simple tricks I have learned to do, but if I do it then I forget like normal. Maybe when I don't forget then will be ready to cast some spells. The pixie seems to think that this is one of those spells on paper things that Lucy was talking about. I wish Lucy were here.

4/10/1337 The mage has made an astounding breakthrough! He recreated a poor facsimile of magic from my native world, and performed the simple trick he learned years ago, and he was able to draw the magic in like one draws a breath. Now he needs to learn to 'exhale' the magic, then he can begin learning how to shape it. In a few more decades he might be able to cast some sort of shadow of my native magic.

12/17/1343 He made the mistake of leaving his personal study unlocked today, it would appear that the pixie was right, he first started showing me some rather basic 'spells' which all mages can cast once beyond apprenticeship, but when I learned those he switched to 'spells' called cantrips. Cantrips apparently are 'spells' for apprentices. I am unsure of what to do, if I confront him he might lash out at me, or maybe even not help me find Lucy, for now I will play dumb.

10/26/1346 He caught me trying to study a 'spell' that was quite a bit more complex than the ones he originally showed me called 'Time Stop' but he interrupted me before I was able to learn it. I confronted him with what I knew, and he laughed and said that if I didn't help him he was going to make sure I would never find Lucy again. I knew I could not remain, so we compromised, I wrote him a manual on what else he needed to learn, and in return he would give me some metal, and a big book that explained much of this world. After completing the manual I left with the metal, the book, and the pixie. I didn't tell him that he would never be able to cast anything of any real strength since the magic he sought didn't exist in this world.

10/28/1346 It seems that he had killed Lucy, but that she can be brought back by a cleric using a 'spell' to resurrect the dead. It was indeed costly, but the metal he gave me was in fact gold, and enough to pay for the ritual. I also learned from the book that the hard shiny clothing was in fact steel plate armor.

10/30/1346 There are creatures that hold sway over the creatures one sees in this world called 'gods' and their magic is a weave that flows, but has been shackled to keep balance. I think this is why one forgets after using it.

7/14/1347 I have arrived at the temple, and have paid for the ritual, Lucy shall return finally after all this time. The priests have even offered to give her a cloak. The pixie is worried about some of the the attitudes of some of the creatures outside the temple.

7/15/1347 It worked! Lucy has returned, though a little weaker than she was before, we talked quite a bit, and decided to leave tomorrow morning to go back to the forest. I have also convinced her to try and return to her home, I believe it has been enough time so that Mark will no longer be obligated to her if he doesn't want to be. The ever vigilant pixie remains troubled by the creatures outside the temple.

9/12/1359 There has been much going on in the past year, but I do not know much of it for I have been truly in despair. After leaving the temple with Lucy and her new robe, a large group of angery people decided to destroy us. The ever vigilant pixie was right, my likeness has spread to this place and they sought to destroy me, but first to destroy that which I cared for first. Lucy was killed again, and without the money to pay for another resurrection the priests would do nothing. The guard came to late to save Lucy from the group, but in time to save me from physical damage. The vigilant one thinks my sorrow moved them to action, as this Drow person wouldn't have such sorrow for another.

9/18/1359 I have decided to name the pixie 'Vigilant' as she has no proper name. She is constantly trying to cheer me up, although I still don't know why she stays close to me after what happened to Lucy.

10/08/1359 Vigilant has reminded me that I should trance, I hadn't done so since Lucy's death. I don't know where I am anymore, neither does Vigilant. I should trance, it will be good for me.

10/09/1359 I now remember why I haven't been trancing. I have dreams of that day, I should find someone to resurrect her again, but who?

4/10/1368 I found someone that would do it! Vigilant has been in such a happy mood since she found the cleric. Vigilant has proven herself invaluable to my quest to bring Lucy back, I am lucky that she hasn't abandoned me so long ago. It will be good to speak to Lucy again, but how can I leave with her this time? How can I protect her when this Drow's reputation seems to exist everywhere? I have much to think about.

4/11/1368 Lucy's back again! We have talked much, but she has decided to join the temple. I wish she hadn't, even though I had talked her into it. Vigilant says I have fallen back into despair. what to do? Every second I am with Lucy it is one second that someone might kill her to give pain to that uncaring Drow person.

4/12/1368 I have left Lucy back at the temple never to return, I know not where I am or where I am going, but I must not remain here. Vigilant still insists on coming with me.

8/30/1372 I have begun to trance again, and am free of the nightmares that have plagued me, perhaps it is time to resume my task of mastering this world's magic. I know not where I am, but the place does not matter. Vigilant is with me still.
