RP experience Award

I think the current automatic experience award for RP updates in a bad way and kind of invisibly. This morning as I logged in it was the first time I noticed getting an actual XP award from RP - ever. Before this I've seen some kind of Debug XP thing only. I'd like to see it update more often and more visibly and not the day after when you log back in. Thing is that since RP brings the "story" along it should actually be awarded a whole lot of experience points. When I play pnp we don't even care about the fighting. I mean, what is experience points really? You'd think that the 100th time I repeat killing something I'd not get any experience at all, while a social situation on the other hand, is never the exact same and more often varies quite a bit from the last time or the last person you met. To award it experience points a little more often and possibly give it a slight boost would make at least me feel like I'm doing something valuable and appreciated and I think it actually might encourage me to RP more (I dunno - I think I RP quite a bit and should probably even cut down on my logged hours >.<).

This is really the ONLY way it can work. We cannot tally your XP for RP award until you log out, once you log out, we cannot give you any XP or modify your PC in any way, hence you earn XP this visit and you receive them next visit.

NOTE we could do many things much more often but we KILL LAG BY NOT DOING UNNEEDED THINGS AT INAPPROPRIATE TIMES. You never notice the lag of counting up these xps when you login.

We try to keep XP awards modest, as the goal is not to advance all the players to lv 40 overnight. I'll review the amount of XP awarded on RP however and will make any needed adjustments then. ATM, I typically see a couple hundred XP for RP on most of my return visits. What XP for RP are YOU seeing?

What I'm trying to say is that I see a tendency towards one thing in the "code" and a tendency towards another in the genre and that I'm not sure these are balanced properly in relation to each other. However, I think that I may have gotten used to the random DM-created encounters and events that I experienced quite often the past month and that since I haven't seen much of that this past week the RPXP award got unjust attention from me.

In closing, do you have any neat events planned? Did the mutated insect-problem get solved?

What XP for RP are YOU seeing?

I want to be sure the amount is commensurate with the effort, how long are you playing and how much XP are you getting for RP?

To answer the posters' question, I _myself_ am not planning any events this week - my garden needs me NOW so it gets priority for the week, or maybe two (I count on it to eat so games take a back seat here during the early spring). We DO HAVE OTHER DMS and I cannot speak for the events THEY will be running this and every week - I encourage all DMS to post their planned events on neverwinterconnections.com and also on our own CALENDAR ... (hint hint hint DMs).

I'm sure you and all players will find events running this week tho.

Also, the insect issue is not resolved. So bring your +4 flyswatter, ok?

I've only seen it once. Probably because there's a bit of information just when you log in and the xp-thing comes first and gets scrolled up, to my knowledge.
