Change in flight plan :D

Can I please suggest a reworking of flight.

atm jumping a distance is based on Dex and you can pin point where you want to jump to. Flying is wing dependant/spell? and you can only point yourself over a lake etc and say fly. However flight is limited in that you cant actually pin point where you want to go. Surely those who can fly should be able to jump any distance and be more flexible about where they go.

Can we possibly have a flight widget for those born with flight.. possibly keeping teh current system for those who conjure flight by spell or polymorph etc. This would also give the natural flyers a small advantage over others.
Can I also suggest that there could be a widget that (I guess a bit like the climb script) lifted a flyer in the air so they were out of reach of ground hits, but could still be got at with arrows.

my vote goes for transforming the jump action into Fly, when wings are available. so instead of using the runestone to jump to a certain spot, you can use it to fly there instead.

The only problem with that is that as I understand it, there would be no difference between jumping and flying. (apart from spelling Smile. Surely those who can fly should be able to fly much further distances. I suggest a seperate system for flying.

There is in fact a very handy script that can change the torso to the flying one with wings flapping and then also fly you to a selected point etc. That would be cool Very Happy

BUMP next generation flying is somewhere in the mid to near now ... get your ideas in while you can impact the scripting. How would you like to see flight handled?

One of the things I always noticed was that 'flying forms' (Eg, Bird, wyrmling, gargoyle) left tracks, despite never touching the ground. Perhaps a pc with wings would turn on 'fly mode' (like the swimming animation but for land), which would drain fatigue super fast, but allow them to avoid leaving tracks?
