Secondaries on Spells
Hello people of Dohral,
As the subject of this topic already states, to improve spellcasting on new custom spells, unique to NWN and only for Al Dohral.
Secondaries on Spells means that for example, when you want to cast Acid Storm (a new AOE spell to NWN, yet existing in the D&D handbook) you must target a location for your AOE spell. This cannot be done without a cursor that allows you to click in the distance for your spell to appear there. Right now, the only method that is popular for these occasions is using an item with unique power so you can click in the distance.
The method i've invented is really simple in comparison to using an item to target the location for your AOE spell. Just chant it's name, and cast the spell, and it's secondary will be cast. You can also equip the spell in the quickslot. Speaking the spell's name before pressing the primary spell that belongs to it, will come with a sound of sparkles, meaning that you have prepared yourself to cast a secondary spell.
I have never seen it before, so we would be the first to use this easy method of casting our custom spells, mind that we have a huge library of custom spells already, and a spellbook is really useful to remember the keyword to cast them, and the spellbook only has spells that can be cast onto someone else by speaking it's name together with the name of the spell, and on yourself.
Acid storm is my first spell I finished for Al Dohral, and hopefully it will be live in a couple of weeks.

the runestone has a function that allows spells to be memorized to the player feats, i think

Just a note for our PLAYERS - Anacondah is helping us by creating new spells for the server. From time-to-time Anacondah needs help to test the latest spells on Anacondah's server prior to bringing the new code to us. If you are asked and have the time to help Anacondah test stuff on his server, please do, it is much appreciated.

just to clarify, this means that, for example, we could say the words, and cast Ray of Enfeeblement, and it would cast our custom spell Ray of Fatigue?

Yes. Chant the keyword for the spell, click the spell that has it as secondary (which spell has which secondary will be in a journal or spellbook maybe), and it will cast the Ray of Fatigue, if that is the custom spell.
