Player journal question Empty Player journal question

Post  eve_of_disaster Sat Jul 17, 2010 10:37 am

Hi.

I was wondering how the player journal works and if you can edit it from your desktop without actually entering the game. I had this idea that I would copy-paste some expressive english words into it to make my emotes more versatile. Often when I emote I find that I have to stop midsentence because I've either forgotten the word or I'm thinking about a swedish word. XD

It would be really helpful and easy for me if I was able to add words into the journal when I am on the desktop rather than having to alt-tab (which currently brings about crashes for me), or playing in windowed mode which I feel is counter-immersive.

So how would I go about doing this in the easiest way possible? Very Happy

NWN does not support upload of text. The engine is just that way. This being the case, the only choice it to type it in manually, or to copy/paste as you mentioned in 'windowed' mode.

IIRC your crashes are related to the override nwshader ? - note, software of that nature gets between your game and your vid card and can cause memory leaks and crashes in some cases (just a general note).

Be well. Game on.

the built-in nwn Notes section of your journal saves to your computer, so you only need to find the file and open it in notepad. will most likely be named for your character.

Thats why you never have the same notes if you hop computers alot, its saved locally.
