Our (annual) server crash ...

Post  GM_ODA on Sun Nov 21, 2010 5:46 am

It has to happen once in a while. LOL. We had a crash last night, the RUNESTONES are not functioning quite right so if you login and experience anomalies, please report them in this thread, we'll have a fixed version of the module online later today (not very long from now really).

Be well. Game on.

Sorry for delay - busy week already. Server got a temp HAK yesterday to fix issues. Today a new HAK on server to fix even more. So _should_ be all cleared up.

Feedback encouraged.

Most runestone functions were working fine for me earlier. Saw some strange calculations when jumping a few times (and managed not to die when doing it, so that may be buggy Razz) but other than that things seem to be working fine.

On a tangent, is the server down now? Direct connecting and gamespy are not properly working.

Yeah at the last few moments of todays little event as I was awarding the XP I noticed some weird ghostly imaged item in the NPC inventory and deleted it, that moment the server came crashing down Sad

So today I learned something new, 'NPCs with partially visible items, leave partially visible items alone' Very Happy

Unfortunately that means the server is now down until tomorrow at least EST.

You might have to re-give the XP to everyone Eri, I don't think everyone got it since we crashed right after. I'm not even sure Kross' character saved the XP he was gifted in that short of time.

It appears the server has crashed again.

(edit) It appears clicking on a beehive is what crashes the server, as that's what caused it both last time and this time. Those must be some angry bees.

False alarm it would seem, no crash as of this 'look in' on the server.

Be well. Game on.

Hmm, server is still active and when I logged in went straight to Tivook Crossing instead of start area so its not reset.

If the Bees cause you to freeze up/disconnect I have seen similar effect with the CEP Big WereBear form (Which is now removed from the Lycon WereBear sub-race options) where its frozen up users before. I assume due to updates of CEP pack that modify earlier model files.
Will try the standard NPC swarm next time see if this offers any improvement.

Yeah it wasn't a 'real' crash: Player location, time etc are stilll normal.

But every player logged in got logged off and the server appeared offline for several minutes. Both times I clicked that beehive.

Those bees are angry, angry animals! Did it do that with different hives, or just a specific one?
