Desperately Seeking DRAGONS

NWN, when it was new, contained the dragons you see in game today, but in those days, the PC level limit was 20. The dragons were built to be challenging to a party of level 20- PCs. Each of the two expansion bumped the PC level cap up by 10 levels so that in the end, we have PCs hitting LEVEL 40, and dragons suited to level 20 and less. *facepalm*

WE NEED NEW DRAGONS. WE NEED DRAGONS BUILT TO 'AGE' FROM LV 1 THRU LV 50, for each type of dragon. I have been asking people (who exhibit or claim to have skills in builds) for YEARS and thus far have yet to get a rebuild on even one color of dragons.

SO I AM ASKING YOU - do you grasp the finer points of builds? Can you step up and completely revamp ONE color of dragons for us?

If you are up to the task, PM me and I'll send you the guidelines. First come first served, so if you'd like to do a specific color, get your bid in soon.

awww, that makes me sad,.... i turned in a dragon around a year ago or so.... then before you got my 2nd one my comp went kaput. but i did! i think it was the black one?

My apologies if I'm in error there Orinai, but last thing I'd received from you said something to the effect that you were not happy with the ones you'd sent (Black Dragon) and that you were going to re-do them. IIRC I waited and never received the follow up. Am I mis-recalling? Did you send something and I missed it? I can check my emails again, I file pretty much everything and if you sent it it is almost certainly in my email.

My comment was not aimed at you, to be clear - this was the task that bobmattin signed on to do about 3-4 years ago. There have been others too. RL sometimes gets in the way (bob could not keep a malware free computer under his fingertips for more than a couple days it seemed), some of the other volunteers have vanished.

The dragons need replaced, have needed it since expansions were released and we've been asking for help on this from persons knowledgable about NWN character building (I know the basis but I'm no expert, I've scripted and DM'd a lot more than I've played and most of my playing is playtesting stuff I've built).

If you have your dragons on hand, send them over - or if you think they were complete I'll check my emails for a lost missive. My apologies if you took offense from this post.

didnt think of it aimed at all boss. and you sir are correct in the matter. i looked back at my old stuff as well and found my last pm on the matter, and yes, i did note that i didnt like the outcome and wished to correct what i though was wrong. so on the note, thank YOU for remining me.

so ill continue that work as i had intended. i will do the Black Dragon, Blue Dragon, and if the metallics are open would like to do the Gold Dragon as well. OH, If i can throw a nomination out there, i think Badgers should make the Brass Dragon.(ill pm you the reason why badger if you want, but im sure youll understand when you read its description/characteristics.)

Once i go over my initial notes, youll get the revamp in the morning, or tomorrow eve.

OK, the process is simple, you open up your NWN Toolkit, OPEN the CEP 2.1 sample module (find it online or ask me to email a copy), select WIZARDS >> CREATURE WIZARD, and make a dragon of your chosen type level 1 (hatchling)

Create 12 life stages of the monster as follows:

Category Age (Years)
1 Wyrmling 0–5
2 Very young 6–15
3 Young 16–25
4 Juvenile 26–50
5 Young adult 51–100
6 Adult 101–200
7 Mature adult 201–400
8 Old 401–600
9 Very old 601–800
10 Ancient 801–1,000
11 Wyrm 1,001–1,200
12 Great wyrm 1,201 or more


NWN toolkit can create creatures up to lv 50 iirc, maybe 60. The TOUGHEST types of dragon should max out at whatever the toolkit maxes out at, the rest should max out somewhat under the max lv. Divide the total level range you will use by the 12 age levels and make a dragon at each 'stage'.

It is a TEXT file that I need describing each age level of the dragon... will use this as a template for our dragons as we level-up (age) them.

I will handle it this way, in each post in this thread that requests a specific dragon type be reserved to the poster, I will accept the FIRST request for that type of dragon. Based on that I have the following list of assigned dragon types:

Orinai Black Dragon
BobbyBrown15 Red Dragon
prinny_c White
badgers Brass Dragon
DM_Dragon has Gold Dragon

OK, please - the end product should take each type of dragon from 1st through 60th level (yes, sixty).

We have an ingenious plan to put into play with these most wicked dragons. I look forward to seeing these creations of yours - no rush, no deadline, but when they are all in and done, you can all look forward to the most amazing dragon testing module in the NWN universe (and you will each get your name or playername (or both) as you like.
