more noob questions

ok, so here i go again, lol.

1- 'noob u.' mentions that characters w/wings can fly. until i happen across some dm nice enough to remove my char's wings [it's not i.c. -- yet... Wink

], i figured i'd like to try that. but i can't figure out how to make it happen. tried the rune chip and the closest i get is being able to jump.

2- that's a very cool way of handling equipping, i like it. Smile

it did cause some confusion tho. there were a few shops where there was nothing -- and i mean absolutely nothing -- for sale. there were dozens of display cases, but every single one was empty. is this as it should be ?

3- there were also many shops w/o vendors in them. is that also normal ? or maybe a pc killed them all for some reason ? [spite ? bad hair ? ]

4- how do i get back to that first area w/all the headless vendors in a room? the one where you have to be nekkid to buy stuff ?

5- got assessed by the tax man while walking around in dohral. 'early bird tax'. [hmmm... scratch

] taxman said i owed 31 tin, 9 gil, 11 sil, 4 cop, but stole 54 plat and 2 gold... Evil or Very Mad

does that really add up like that ?

well that's enough for now. thanks for putting this thing together, looks pretty fun so far. i'm hoping i'll run into a dm or other players sometime.

Alternative activators include the fly-on-fly potion and a rest menu option (#1). Direction of flight is the direction you face when launching the power, distance is governed by str to load ratio, DEX, winds/weather and more.

We are presently 'rolling out' these new form merchants and some stores are not completed as yet, atm several have to be manually stocked by DMs but our automated restocking system is _almost_ completed. My apologies about the empty merchants, I'll try to visit the shops today and stock them up (thx for the alert).

3- there were also many shops w/o vendors in them. is that also normal ? or maybe a pc killed them all for some reason ? ... almost all the merchants close at night and go home (allows for burglary options was the intent there) is it possible you entered a shop at night? There is one vendor open 24 hours a day, in Port Chonda, Trader Nick Friendly (who has a burly nephew who watches the store by night).

4- how do i get back to that first area w/all the headless vendors in a room? the one where you have to be nekkid to buy stuff ? Normally, your PC starts there as a new PC and starts there when we restart the server (which I plan on doing this afternoon with an update to the module). Failing that, ask any DM for a port back to the start area (if I see you online, I'll give you a tool to allow you to port there at will - the wand of misc., if you see any DM online, ask for one).

My apologies the server seems bare of people the last 48 hours or so, many of our people are students and are at the 'final exam' point in their school cycle. I'm sure we'll see them back over the next few days, and online a good deal during the holiday break. I hope to see you online friend!
