'Kay, now... Server?

I've played my fair share of NWN1 on single player, but I don't know how to use servers. WHADDAFK do I do?


EDIT: I just found the forum post with instructions, I got to the part where I created my character, but when I go to login, it tells me it's missing a file.

OK, this is likely indicating you are missing a 'tlk' file, or possibly a hak. Instructions follow for installing the CEP (Community Expansion Pack) which is required for playing on the server. Note: it is a commonly used hak so many players already have it.

The latest CEP is 2.4 and in this version at least they separated the files into folders (inside the compressed archive). The important files are in two of these folders, so after you unZIP the CEP, find the folder from that archive with the name 'hak' ... all the .hak files in there should be copy/paste to the

C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\hak

folder. All the files in the 'tlk' folder (these have a .tlk extention) should be copy/paste to

C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\tlk

folder, make this folder if you don't already have it. One last note, if your nwn game is from gog.com, then the path is different than listed above, respectively the proper folders are named

C:\GOG\NeverwinterNights\NWN\hak

and

C:\GOG\NeverwinterNights\NWN\tlk

Let me know how the process works out for you, with these files in place, you should be able to login, make a PC and play. Hope to see you online friend.

I don't know. I got it from Google. I'm more of the "massacre everything in your path" type of gamer, so I just went with some sort of warrior pic. >.>

I'm open to try new things. D: Besides, single player gets kinda boring after a while. And I love roleplaying, so I think I can assimilate.
