CLERIC SPELLS AND THEIR DOMAINS

Spell availbility per domain needs to be reviewed. It seems right now if you are of the correct level you can learn a spell regardless of your domain. You are unaware you are not supposed to have the spell unless you cast it. The message comes up that your god curses you, the curse symbol comes up but luckily none of your skills are affected. So far in Charia's case She has only experienced it with one spell which has been reported a few times. If other clerics can post what spells give them trouble it may help.

Somewhat unrelated. Been pondering this for a while but, and considering how lore intensive I am, shameful to admit but uh.. how the hells does a cleric ever ascend to deityhood? Same goes for most religious classes, Ur-priests even more so.. think about it.. clerics get their power from deities and the domains and such spells come from the deity they represent. Now.. the deity sponsers them into deityhood, which the cleric then is it's own deity.

As with the rules of Ao and general rules considering deities they must pray to the overgod, not to the deity they once represented, however they would not be considered subservient to their sponser. My question is.. how can the Cleric or other such religious class function in it's old manner when the rules no longer apply when they ascend to deityhood themselves?

What does that actually have to do with Charias post? O.o

I thought that was fixed, maybe I missed one or two spells... Got any examples that go with that?

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER. Gods are not mortals, mortals are not gods. I find it a joke when a mortal becomes a god. Why would anyone ever worship any god if they could become one themselves? Gods are separate, different, NOT MORTAL and not something a mortal will ever become.

I know Forgotten Realms has had such events. This is not FR and I just don't allow such foolishness. By the FR rules all you basically have to do is cow some peons into worshiping you and that is just trash. In such cases anyone with three levels would just go beat on Kobolds until they got the desired effect, and soon everyone would be a god.

So for reference of all PLAYERs & DMs here,

Mortal beings never become gods in this setting. Sainthood is the cap beyond which no mortal travels.

Oh that brings me to a question, what about Aasimars or half celestials, becoming *permanently polymorphed* into full celestials with getting saintshood? And with that go directly into the hands of their gods to serve them? I would see that as a neat ending for such characters.

I think the dietyhood post should be siphoned from this and have its own thread as to not muddy the waters.

I will check what spell causes Charia to be cursed but the player behind Kendrick mention he cast one or two and was cursed.
Hopefully he will respond.

so far i get cursed if i cast Freedom of Movement, Elemental Buffer(?)..i have Good and protection domains

yes, and i have trouble to boost it into the green, i can pray at my temple only a few times a day...?

That would be your problem then, you can also make donations to get your favor up i beleive, however i have never played a divine class, charia or valerion know more about it than i do, but i know enough to say that is likely your problem, if its not then we do have an issue, try getting the favor up more and try, if it still happens then its obviously not it.

That is not always the case. Your favor bar can be at max and you still get cursed for using an "incorrect" spell

To help get favor bar up:

Go to your temple everytime you log in.

Your favor goes up when you pray at the altar and tithe.

When you talk to your priest/priestess you will see options to tithe. Choose the first option which has OOC 10%.

You need to wait a bit before it goes up as well as wait before praying and tithing again. Usually do the above steps then maybe do something else and return in about 15 min. One way to avoid the favor bar drain is to use scrolls as they are not diety specific also using wands. I would recommed you take the craft wand and scribe scroll feats. Wands and scrolls save cleric spell slots.

If you have done the above steps repeatedly leavin approriate wait intervals and it is still not up then maybe have a dm lpook at it.

Also favor bars are always yellow never green. So if your bar is solid yellow and you get cursed usuing a spell then report it.

Thanks the online bug report info hit right on the nose, found a line I'd commented a while back since didn't know the right number to put in at the time, and nwn compiler didn't like ??? as a number

Heal will work after next update... my mistake, if that happens on another spell (it might) please include same information message, that was the big clue and had all the answers in it.

Tried a few new spells but they were ok. So far for Charia it is heal.

Charia cast poision and got the cursed, unfaithful yada yada even though her favor high.  I can understand spells taught by the priest or priestess maybe domain specific but a regualr cleric spell?
