This script does not jive with the runestone status, stump status or anvil status. A'rys got the warning Boots in Real trouble here, yet the afore mentioned items say it is in nearly new condition.
I got the warning even after using the mend spell and enchanting table.

Ok at least with A'rys it may be a bug I tried two other pair of boots which she has not worn and immediately got the boot repair warning

Maybe turn off the whole thing until issues resolved? I have A'rys wearing a pair which can easily be replaced if they go poof.
