And Acolyte of The Benefactor.
“The Benefactor” is one of the many honorifics for Chitai, goddess of Luck and other things.

A jinx is not the same as a curse.  When two people say the same thing at the same time, one and only one of them may call a jinx upon the other simply by saying "jinx" and pointing at them.  If you get to know your enemy intimately enough you can arrange for it to happen on purpose.  If it happens by accident, you should call it upon the other person immediately, before they can call one on you.

Lies are Evil.
but white lies are Neutral

The Order of Right People of the Church of Chitai intend to tell a white lie every day.

There are certain lucky rituals/superstitions/social conventions that one can use to circumvent Fate.

Blowing out all your nameday candles in one breath, crossing your fingers, spitting on your hands when dicing, making your first drink a toast and tossing a coin into a fountain all summon good Luck.

Throwing salt over your shoulder when you've spilled it, always having a cat aboard when sailing, knocking wood if you have tempted Fate, not naming the play while in the theatre, engraving the date of placement on cornerstones and blessing a sneezer to prevent his soul from leaving his body all ward against bad Luck. Also, it's bad luck to die on an empty stomach.

One way to cure a Jinx is to kill the person who Jinxed you.

the other way to cure a jinx is to have someone speak your name three times.
