Unusual Activity: Dohral

Saber blinks a moment and look at him then shakes his head and heads off after Joe calling char again on the way, that's if the damned cat wasnt bloody lazy -never mind, saber whip in hand follows after the man jsut shouting back
"BE CAREFUL DAMN YOU!"

"Oh for-"

Seeing Saber chase after Joe, Toman goes after Kev, leaving his helmet behind for now.

From the top of the ramp, Toman watches as Saber runs full tilt into a net held ready by the two men at the bottom.

The two ruffians quickly bundle him in the ropes, which are thick and one section catches the moonlight. As the rope touches Saber, he recoils from contact as his strength is sapped.

They make as to drag him north

Saber curses and quickly trys shifting to a snake to slither out of the net

With the continuous burn from the silver ropes, Saber is unable to hold a shift together into any alternate form in the struggle with the ropes. Meanwhile, the two men have been able to start dragging him at a medium speed away down the street, crossing 50 feet this round.

Toman doesn't stop chasing, but this time he gets out his bastard sword. He's lost his patience. And he was rather pissed at Joe for stealing his body back there. If Joe didn't run fast enough, fists weren't what he was going to have to worry about.

Saber Curses and struggles, just trying to stay awake now, dammit all.He reaches into a pocket and pulls out a thunderstone Grinning and shouting as best he can.
"TOM LOUD NOISE INCOMING!"
He throw it at the ground with as much force as he can right now, granted, not alot but it's the best he can do.

Joe also pulls something from his pocket and it crashes to the stone moments after the thunderstone, causing a bright light.

Clearing the ringing from his ears and the light from his eyes, Toman notices immediately that the street is empty save for himself.


Saber however is disoriented from the ropes and the light and noise, all well as the sudden change in environment. Instead of being dragged across a stone street, it is the stone of a cavern.

The group appeared in the middle of one large room, the only visible exit a tunnel leading into darkness. Three other men rush forward and grab the edges of the net as well, and you pick up speed as consciousness fades.

Sabercurses, that was damn reckless, and waht they needed, now he was annoyed, and in a cave somewhere he sighs to himself, next time, think about what your going to do.

Toman lowers his hands from his eyes, his headache pounding.

Well fuck.

There was no one there- no scumbags (Saber included), no trail, no signs...

Toman pauses for a moment, before briskly walking towards the spot where they had been.

So what did he have to go on? Those pricks had some form of magic- something thrown- that caused a bright flash of light and then... they disappeared? A skeptical part of his mind went back to those old street performers who had some skill with cantrips and simple spells that would use illusion and tricks to appear far more skilled than they were- smoke and mirrors, trap doors and wires.

But where the heck could they have run to and disappeared in, in the brief moment Toman was blinded. They were heading north- why north? There was nothing in north Bolovin of interest. Was it just to move away? He didn't know of anything strange in Mid Bolovin...

But if they had access to magic clubs that could swap a persons soul into another body, then something that can port a group away wouldn't be impossible.

The watchman crouches down and inspect the ground where they'd been standing. He might not be able to tell what the heck it was, but if there was any residue left, perhaps he could bribe Pel into telling him more- and who this woman was who had access to such high magic items.

As for where they could have gone... The maze beneath Dohral? That is were the last fetches were taken- and to an island after that, although Toman never found out which island. Still, it might be worth a try.

Toman frowns, before looking up and around, "Oi, cat, you still here?"

You find the discarded thunderstone, now starting to crumble into dust, and another shattered object a few feet away. Getting closer to inspect it, it appears to be made from some kind of crystal but similar in size to the thunderstone.

Toman warily picks up the stone, examining it. Perhaps it could still be used, but first he wanted to make sure.

Standing back up, Toman walks back up the way he came, picking up his discarded helm and putting it back on.

"Cat, if ye still around, I'm taking a trip to talk to a mage. We'll find ye master yet."

He had no idea is Saber's panther was still around, or what exactly was the bond between druid and companion, but the cat was smarter than most and might be a lead in finding Saber. He also hoped, if the cat followed him, it didn't mind magic carpets.

The panther walks out of an alleyway and follows tom, meowing something to him
["You better find him, else I'll follow and annoy you till you do, he doesn't deserve this.."]

Tom inspects the largest fragment, this one held its shape fairly well, though there are perhaps two others about the same size. The outside is actually quite smooth, but rough where it fractured inside. You feel odd looking at it with any focus, and any light it once had is gone.

Toman frowns piecing all the pieces he picked up together, watching as they formed a broken sphere. Well, he doubted the thing would work now, but who knows. Wasn't there a simple spell to fix broken things like this? Hell, he had no idea how magic worked. He could read a scroll and access the weave, but he couldn't do anything from the top of his head.

The cat was around, but he had no idea if it was going onto the carpet with him. Whatever.

Paying the fee and stepping onto the carpet, Toman requested North Egbort and sat down. He didn't know how some people could stand while these things started moving. His cloak moved anxiously, and as the wind picked up when he was in the air, he grabbed his cloak to keep it down. Risking a peek over the edge of the carpet, Toman glanced across the City as he flew over Mid Chonda and North Donnel, finally settling in North Egbort.

As soon as the carpet touched down, Toman was off and heading towards Pels, knocking on the door for formalities sake before trying to enter- Pel was usually open all hours to get coin from unfortunate magic mishaps, but with how crazy the city had gotten, the damn mage might have grown enough sense to lock his door.

The door is in fact locked. For that matter, it looks like no one has been here in some time.

Saber looks round the place he's in trying to get a clue on where he is.

Toman punches the door, then leans against it and sighs.

So he couldn't use the eccentric mage to help identify the broken shards. The only other mage he knew about was Wizard Betters, and that was through rumours- Tom didn't ever want to meet him. There was the college he supposed. Full of... students.

He had no idea what to do with the stone.

He could go to the maze, but he was fairly sure that would be suicidal (more so than patrolling.)

He might have also lost the other cat.

He hated this night.

Saber's cat approaches from the shadows of the night, and drops a piece of what looks like clothing at your feet.

Scratch that (heh. Cat puns) it appears to be part of Saber's cloak, assuming you'd recognize it.

Toman manages to resist flinching as the shadow cat- the panther- appears and drops him a piece of cloth. Toman wasn't immediately aware of what the cloth was from, but he knew it had to be important if the big cat brought it to him. Picking it up and examining it, the watchman frowns as he recognises the colour of the cloth- part of Saber's cloak?

"This is great- but ye're the one whose going to have to track it. Don't think I'm like ye lycan master..." Toman frowns and trails off, "Wait, where did ye find this?"

If the cat hadn't given it to him before he took the carpet, he can only assume that the cat found it while he was in the air. Still, this provided a possible lead, if the cat was up to tracking. Didn't druids have some sort of mental connection with their animals that let them locate each other? He had no idea how that worked- and Saber was a bit of an odd druid anyway...

The cat snatches up the cloth and takes off west, leaping over the gate into North Donnel

Toman sighs, and chases after the cat.

This night was going to kill him.

The cat leads you on a merry chase through the dark streets of the city, passing a few startled nocturnal citizens

You end up in North Bolovin, near the sewer access grate. There is a large scorch mark nearby, and more of that crumbled crystal.

Toman ignores the citizens, although he wants to shout at them for being outside at night. However, he was currently using all his attention to keep up with the shadow cat as it wound its way through the city streets as easily as it might have done trees in a jungle.

Arriving at the sewer grate, Toman frowns at the remains of the crystal, kneeling down to examine it and comparing it to the crystal shards in his possession. If these were a means of transportation, why are there remains here as well? Does this suggested someone ported away from this location, or to it? Either way, the cat seemed to think this area was important- and if it had some of Saber's cloak, that would suggest the shifter had come this way at some point as well.

He glances to the cat and gestures to the grate, "Down there?"


((If the cat confirms, Toman will go down- knowing that the cat would struggle to track in the stench of the sewer, he'd be looking around for tracks visually.))

The cat places the torn bit of cloth on the grate, and you see more of the cloak caught in the metal, obviously where the panther had torn it from.
