Unusual Activity: Saber

Confusion blurs away as you awaken, replaced with excitement as you realize how special today is. Your 8th birthday. Throwing the blanket off, you scramble to get dressed and head downstairs.

In the kitchen of the farmhouse you've grown up in is your sister, only a few years older than you with long vibrant red hair. She sits at the table eating, a second plate of breakfast across from her on the small table.

Good morning brother, I thought you were going to sleep the whole day. Mother has run to town to get your gift, and she'll return come sundown. I made your favorite breakfast, and after chores we'll have the whole day to play! Come sit and eat.

He sits down and starts eating, only to look up and smile at her.
Today is going to be a good day, i can feel it!

She smiles back at you, and takes her plate to the sink and starts washing.

I hear you. Mother only gave us a few things to do today, in honor of the occasion. You just let me know when you want to start, we just have to have it done before she gets home tonight.

Quickly eating, and finishing his meal he also Brings his plate to the sink, handing it to her,a thoughtful grin on his face.
"Lets start with the hardest thing first?Or the longest" He shrugs.

He nods but frowns
"The beetles? How am I to get rid of them?And you know the chickens dont get on with me, they peck my feet, So I end up kicking them."

She smiles endearingly.

You've always had a penchant for playing with sticks. Why don't you grab one and chase them off. As far as the chickens go, just kick them back in the pen.

He grins and heads out teh door, grabbing the nearest stick and kicking all the chickens he can find, Smashing all the beetles. This was the best day ever, and nothing was going to stop that.

Chickens penned and beetles dispatched, you hear your sister calling you from behind the barn.

Saber happily run towards her, enjoy this place, wishing eh could wake here every day.

You see your sister shoo'ing off a group of small cats, which evoke a surreal feeling, she turns to you and gestures towards the back of the barn.

Looking over, you see a group of bottles arranged on several hay bales. Turning back to her, she is holding what looks like a hand made crossbow, not exactly weapons grade but definitely usable.

I gathered up the bottles, but I thought it would be cool for you to try out my gift.

He looks at the where the cat were a moment before nodding and taking the crossbow, He takes aim and fires, an odd feeling at the back of his mind.

Distracted, your shot misses and hits the side of the barn.

Careful! I don't want to have to explain a bunch of holes to mom! Focus, Forget about everything except the bow and the bottle.

Frowns and lowers the crossbow a moment, looking back at her
"Why'd you shoo off the cats, you know I like them. I've always wanted a pet one.."

He blinks, thinking
"T..they do?.. I.. d..ont. rember.. that.."
He holds and shakes his head a little.
"Hey sis... What's our names?.."
He frowns, trying to think,.. what.. -was- his name!?

She looks at you, concerned, and steps closer to touch you.

Our names? Brother are you okay? My name is Rose, and yours is Saber. Did you hit yourself in the head while chasing those beetles away?

HE looks are her, a frown quickly crossing his face
"I.. that.. that's not.. my. name..Who.. are. you, where am I?.. Thi.. is.. a dream?.."
He looks about, confused and shocked. his head and eyes darting about, trying to make sense of this place.

Looking around, the entire world is on fire, and three cats circle your feet rubbing against your legs. Looking at them brings your memories back, but when you look up at your sister she is no longer the red headed child, but a redheaded woman.

Smart lad, but this is no dream. All is an illusion of my design. She snaps her fingers, and the fire immediate area leaps from the ground and twists in the air, slowly forming a great horned demon with goat legs, still aflame. It opens it's giant maw and dives, swallowing you whole.







Your awareness returns in the belly of the beast, and you are not alone. A familiar face, Pel, is inspecting the walls of the demon's stomach, and muttering to himself. The slime you were lying in comes up to your knees when standing, and it's absurdly hot.

Saber looks around a blinks, having never been in this situation before he's at a loss at what to do. He looks to pel and tilts his head
"You, pel right? I've been to your shop once, and we can have a chat when we get out but right now, HOW do we get out?If you need a cearatin spell I may know it, but from the feeling's here, we dont have much time.. Choices?"
Saber frowns, these arnt his clothes, Which means he'll ahve to fight with claws if he much, good.. He like odd against him, much more fun.

Startled, Pel almost falls into the muck, but regains his composure. He turns to face you, and you see him wearing a monocle on the eye not covered by the eyepatch. (( if abs is wrong and he doesn't have an eyepatch, then on his right eye))

He straightens and points a bony finger at you.

You there! Boy! How many stomachs did you pass through before reaching this one?

Saber Frowns and looks at him
"I think this is the only one, now How in the hells do we get out, it's getting hot in here, and i'll be damned if this is how i'm gonna die!"

Pel seems to deflate a bit.

Troubling, very troubling. He sighs
Relax boy, the heat won't be the one to kill you. I've been here for a day... I think. You rather loose track of time here.

Frowns, and looks around
"Well anyway out then?.. and not the dead, absorbed way."

He gestures behind you, where what is effectively a tunnel lies.

I've been through 70 different stomachs, but what you've confirmed is that it was the same stomach each time. He gestures towards the "wall" he was looking at, where a large X is cut. I've been working on this for about 6 hours, but as you see, it's only an inch or so deep now.


I have to say, for all the demon's I've been eaten by, this is a first for me.
