The RuneStone's OOC Menu
Target the RuneStone item with one of its own spells, ie, Use the RuneStone's Unique Power and target the RuneStone item.
That gives the menu:
1. Role Play Level
2. Customize Tool Feats
3. Acceptable Violence Level
4. Misc
1. Doesn't do anything yet, this is for turning on and off systems that are in the pipeline.
2. From this menu you can setup PC Tool Feats 1 to 9 to whatever function from your RuneStone you wish... Such as Assigning PC Tool Feat 1 to Jump , for example.
3. Settings for 'Allow Kidnapping' (Defaults to 'Deny'), 'Allow Permanent Damage' (this is things like loose a limb, again defaults to 'Deny').
4. Misc settings has only 'Use °F instead of °C for temperature' option, this is defaulted to off.

What happens if you put the kidnapping and permanent damage "ON"? I'm very curious but hesitant to try it.

KIDNAPPING ON means your PC _could_ be kidnapped if overwhelmed by slavers.
PERM DAMAGE means if you get disfigured, it stays.
Gritty realism. Fun.

Can you get disfigured currently without it being permanent?GM_ODA wrote:KIDNAPPING ON means your PC _could_ be kidnapped if overwhelmed by slavers.

Kidnapping is fun, disfigurement less so, imo.

i believe it would be well within a Deity's power to remove disfigurement, but you can have one without the other

but you have to get it healed first, and some people aren't that keen on deity's or clerics for a number of reasons.
i'd suggest renaming it to "disfigurement" alone, or something like that.

Re: The RuneStone's OOC Menu
eh, i quite wonder how the disfigurement is handled, if your in the middle of RP and someone brings an axe down on your hand, your gonna loose the hand, theres no magic barrier that stops the axe right before it chops your hand off.
that being said, for things like this i always leave a option or two to undo said things

Re: The RuneStone's OOC Menu
Friends,
To be clear, what we are doing here is adding some 'gritty realism' for those who want to use it. These features will allow your PC to visually loose a limb or extremity (there are 'invisible' models for hands, feet, shins, forearms, thighs and upper arms which our systems will use). Typical D&D style healing is possible. Example the 'regeneration spell' grows it all back. Other specific spell effects can be found in D&D rulebooks for the specific spells (3E rules here) as regards does the magic replace lost limbs or not.
