NETWORK MAINTENANCE

Friends,

I got notice of network maintenance so I'll NOT reboot the server until I'm sure the techs are done doing what they must do - the server will be restarted in the morning when I get back in to look on the matter.

Please pardon the needful maintenance window.

SERVER MAY BE OFFLINE FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS.

Well, time to grab a coffee and waiting meanwhile~ ^^

Server has been down nearly 24 hours now.

My oopsy, tried to restart server yesterday after the maintenance was over (cause nwserver seemed to have just got stuck, still running but not working).

The cleaning script that backs up the log files then kills all nwn processes if any are still running - this failed because I hadn't made sure all the functions were installed on the new system, (first time it had to terminate active process since the server transfer). This gap in the code instead terminated most running programs including the TSR that should have automatically restarted nwn.

So now we just have to wait for the machine to be manually rebooted....

My err, I did not understand the instruction so restarting the hardware was not done until today. Hardware is restarted and _should_ start responding soon. If it does not 'wake' on its own, then I'll pass the issue back to our uber genius tech Erin.

KUDOS to Eriniel! Very soon after we restarted the hardware, Eriniel got the nwn server up and running again without incident. HOORAH!
