HUNTERS

In the past some players role played that they were undead hunters, lycan hunters, etc.  This caused a bit of tension and some hostility amongst players.

In D and D lore there are specialized hunters and groups opposed to these races and others. What about NPC hunters of these races?

Players of these uber races can still enjoy the game and interact with others but have to keep an eye out.  

That is not to say actual players could not be a group however clear guidelines would need to be posted as players of these races do not feel they are griefed as has been in the past.

+1 Awesome idea IMO. Patrols or 'Packs' of NPC hunters that are actively seeking the Undead/Lycans in the provinces is a nice touch. Perhaps they only appear though when the Vamps/Lycans have an uprising (2+ PC's are logged onto their relevant accounts) or some such. As far as PC created hunting groups go i see no issue as long as both agree to the RP aspect of what is bound to happen eventually. Just because your IC Hunter is a douche doesnt mean you need to be one OOC. A quick tell and its easy enough to work something out with the PC's. Not everything needs to end with the tip of the sword.

The hunters would not need to wait for more than one even if one lycan or one vampire comes on the hunt would be on.

Valid point, You could simply edit the amount that spawn over time based on the number of infected PC's online

May I remember lycan hunting is illegal? So it shoudn't be something very common, of course there would still be a few against the law, but they are considered bandits, and will be treated as such.

Not that anyone dedicated to hunting Lycans would follow the law id imagine. Or the majority wouldn't imo. Whatever it takes to kill them really. But that's all PC dependent or certain NPC's (if they are brought to fruition) personalities.

It is possible that in AR you cannot world wise. There is a supposed treaty not to but if memory serves that treaty broke down so it is not really being enforced. (correct me if I am wrong)

The main reason I mentioned this is it is part of d and d lore. Certain groups and gods are opposed to this to lycans so it would be in their nature to hunt them. I suggested NPC do this rather than actual players as the instances can be controlled.

On a place that has lycan hunters, lich hunters and vampire hunters slavers and assassins it adds a nice element of manageable danger.

Actually while the new Hunters are Still trying to get themselves set up after all the Horribleness.. There ARE hunters Infact the Old Treaty really needs to be Re-Established(Event for that pending) untill then And even probally After all there WILL Always be people who hunt them, either hunters with Lycon-killing gear Or people who simply want the monsters gone because reasons.

Ok. So if people agree an active NPC group could be added one that would be automatic and not need DM's to control.

An NPC faction of hunters seems the best way of dealing with the 'But shouldn't Vampires/lycans/other beasties actually... you know.. face hostility?'.

If dealt with by a PC or DM, it can sometimes feel like it's another player out to grief you, even if they don't mean it that way. But no one can really accuse AI of griefing them, and it would hold official weight. Not just 'This person disagrees with my character not being persecuted and has taken it upon themselves to rectify that', but 'Oh- it's tough to be a vampire/lycan/other! I need to watch out!'. 

So, I'd be in favour of  AI hunters (I know they've actually been in the works for a while). Sure, we should acknowledge the RP history of the now faded treaty, but I think it's safe to say that treaty has been near forgotten by those in power, and no one's going to stop individual hunters acting on their own volition.  (The Chapter is disbanded, the hunters fallen silent/splintered, the fey likely having lost interest for the most part (even if certain fey individuals haven't) and the druids will probably still be angry at lycans being hunted, but actually can't do much about it- or risk it).

Which is part of the Reason I did all that I mean now there is small band that is trying to stop but they hold next to no weight due to past actions, being small minority and the fact that most hate lycons because they Can be monsters but Yes in favor of AI hunters After PC lycons/vamps/other
