Do the different specializations or school you pick at level one of wizard give you anything? Like I was considering abjuration but if it doesn't do anything It would be bad to forsake conjuration. Is there a list of these things somewhere?

OH yeah. Twisted Evil

Could we resist THAT? LOL.

I can't give all the details, as they are myriad, but such things as necromancers detecting undead along with any Detect Magic attempts... and similar linkages abound.

some little basic details should be available as common knowledge, after all, a wizard wouldnt specialize in that school unless he knew tons about it.

"can't" as in "I don't have all that information in one place yet." I'll see what I can do about that tho.

I have this on the best authority (fresh from Eriniel) Very Happy

Schools besides the built in NWN standard which is to have bonuses when casting/making DC checks with spells of chosen school,

We have:
Detect Magic:
Necromancy and/or Pale Master : Detect Undead, Aberrations
Transmutaion: Detect ShapeShifters
Evocation: Detect Elementals
Conjuration: Detect Constructs
Abjuration: Detect Outsiders

All: Detect Magical Beasties, Casters, Dragons,

Spell Research takes school into account for learning, but since the rolls are not setup probably yet this probably isn't noticeable YET .

Mentors read the school to tell which school the PC is from in order to teach them.

How about spell focus in a school? Couldn't that also give detectionskills?
