Lanterns that give illumination when set on ground

Lanterns _should_ be things we can light and place on a flat surface to illuminate the space... this in addition to being a light source we can carry. I'm thinking an equipped lighted lantern could be targeted by runstone to achieve the effect on the current standing location or nearest table?

I like that ... but do people even use lanterns/torches in NWN or AR?
Great RP enhancer , just uncertain about the actual use/benefit ... but cool none-the less.

Ability to hang torches on walls , or candles placed also would be cool in same regards.

In NWN, the lantern light source has to be carried in a hand, this means no attacking for the 'off-hand', being able to put the lantern down and still benefit from the light it gives (for those PCs who cannot see in the dark) should be a benefit to those PCs I think. Feedback?
