New update?

I thought the server got shut down or something i was panicking a little bit.
Turns out NWN:EE just got updated to a new version today.
How long does it take for the server to get to this new version?
(I'm asking not out of impatience, but curiosity because i have no experience with it)

Good question. It varies but likely will not take more than a couple days.

My client also is on the newest version. Will the server be synced to the latest or is this a problematic update?

Oda could say better, but I know Eriniel is working on the update ...

Go to your properties ( right click NWN:ee in your game list/libray) , tab over to Beta tab, in it select "oldstable"  ... this will allow you to get on the version running now.  
When server updates in a few days, you simply do the process again, and select latest version, or off the "oldstable" option.

Ty! I actually have the Beamdog launcher so I think the steps are different. Looking into it now.

Ahh, I'm a Steam user ... unfortunately, lol ...

Maybe Beamdog forums more of a help then on that?

It did take us quite bit to figure out how to revert on Steam side. (It's easy, when it doesn't mess up lol. )

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything that made any sense to me, regarding a revert of version with beamdog's launcher . what info they have seems a cluttered mess, and scattered between forums, Trello, and reddit like places ...
My search was cluttered with the other junk CRPG games, baldurs gate:EEE, ect ... too ... , I get aggravated at thier forums a bit, I don't follow them much myself., so I have no idea what is old news or new news ... *sighs*

If nothing else, I know it sucks a bit ... wasn't Oda's or Eriniel's fault, Beamdog popped the update out there, with no warning when it'd actually drop. Otherwise this process would have been minimal to say the least, but ... it won't be long, Oda just said that to me OOC wise about 3 hours ago, messing around with my character in game.

I think eriniel just has to make sure, the updated server version, didn't break or drastically ruin all the goodies included first, then she'll put it up once satisfied all is well.
She's a genius , and thorough ... so it takes a small bit of time to do so.

Yea it seems Beamdog is doing smaller and more incremental updates, which is great for them but seems like a pain for PW admins. I actually haven't had much time to play this weekend so I'm alright waiting =) I agree, I'd rather her make sure it's all good first instead of just pushing the new version through

I'm looking into the revert version option for beamdog versions right now. I'll post in a wee bit when I sort this out.

I've gone over a hundred pages on a dozen searches and I'm not finding a solution at this time - except, maybe, install the steam version.

if you bought the delux version you already have a key for the steam and just need to insert it in to down load the game on steam from beamdog client.

I play a few worlds depending on people traffic, ones I know and wish to be involved as a group.
Right now missing you folks though, looking for estimate on how much longer???
Tried the link in prior post and that is no longer working. Beamdog put out word on the 8th that their
app manager client does not support regress.

But, as far as groups go, hey .. you can invite em here once it's sorted out!

Hasn't been much "traffic" since the update fiasco , but .. hehehe Rannie was on a few days ago

Most the time, just Helthan, LadyAurora, and Me ... and of course Oda.

I think it'll re-pick up, once the update is done.
I didn't know the different means of purchase, had different clients handling updates. Gog just got NWN:EE , so .. more confusion for folks.

I don't care much for Steam, but it's easier than the alts I think.

My apologies to all, this is taking a while longer than anticipated.

It has been an awkward series of events around here (and Cyprus) the last couple weeks. Erin's grandmother had a medical issue that required family assistance, so Eriniel's mother traveled to the UK to manage events. This put extra responsibilities on Eriniel back home, worse, Eriniel had been coping with painful wisdom teeth issues and went in to have them removed this week. For myself, my back went out on me a week ago (literally), and I've been unable to get out of the horizontal position (literally) half the days this week. I'm recovering as quickly as can be, but don't dare do anything technical with the server atm because at times, the pain gets overwhelming and I must simply stop whatever I'm doing and go lay flat with my heating pad.

Normally, we are quicker about these things but RL is RL and we've hit a rough patch.

Give us a couple days to get back on our collective feet and we'll wrangle this update into place. Thank you for your patience.

I'm hoping to get on the server and so check daily to see if ready.

Just bumping the topic up again.  

Honestly, we need to get it updated as soon as Eriniel can get to it.  

Being Lycans , playing in our little pack is fun ... but , it'd be more fun to have other players on and back too.  
 A bit nice to have others, keeping the secret from ... not to mention more shocked and embarrassed by Bav's behavior , plus loads more things!

I know it's got to be somewhat hurting us attracting new players as well.
Steam users are OK if they know how , but many get it from GOG/Beamdog with can't back-roll updates.
