Mystery solved. The hosting company had sent me an email telling me that the server would be physically moved to a new rack - in preparation for data center expansion. The machine was turned off (hence nwn went off) moved then turned back on - but it is erin or I who must flip the switch for nwn to run, so hence, it was offline a couple hours. The message the hosts sent me got auto-moved into a folder I don't often look at ... my err. *blushes*

Fixed the link but for some reason it still can't find the server... though nwn has no trouble finding it.

Just for your information. Erin recently made a stand alone software that inquires of the server if it is up and displays the number of players logged in when it is invoked (run). NICE little program I have it running in my task bar now. So we KNOW that that part is working well. I'm not certain what is going on with ischandar's site/server.

As of now, getting extreme lag in combat and when using items. The lag seems to not be for speaking, though.

Not really, Bobby. There are ways to update without shutting down the server.

Could it be the server's code? Another I use has it the only time they have had problems was when the isp changed.

Our server is online, stays online 24x7. So far we have not sussed how to display number of players online via our web page and are not putting any more time / emphasis on resolving it. What was working stopped, solution not apparent, benefit less apparent.

Somehow nwnlist.com shows our server and player count just fine. *shrugs* Why the other group is not / cannot, I frankly don't care at this point.

Why do I not care? Because it does nothing to help promote the server to those who do not know of us. nwnlist.com has us listed and that does fine. For those already visiting out site playnwn.com having that number on the page does little and we already 'reached' that visitor. To help bring new players in, post on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in the NWN section on PWs.

Nearly forty minutes now. Sounds like Erf's being added I guess, but does anybody know for sure and how long yet, or should I just go play somewhere else for a while. Thanks.
