They get enhancement bonus with melee weapons, why not longbows? Especially fighters that have weapon focus in a ranged weapon, I think they should get extra damage like they do with melee. Can easily be done by adding a +1 Attack Bonus for the bow, and a +1 damage bonus effect that can be removed by using the on unequip script.

Good question.

My logic was that Arcane Archers have the edge on everone with missiles. Weapon masters can specialize in any weapon including missiles iirc. So my goal was to make the humble fighter THE goto guy for melee. Often a weapon master will have Fighter class already so it works in synergy with that class. A weapon master / arcane archer would be able to get synergy from the two classes also.

Ranged weapons are usually used for Arcane Archers, Rangers and Druids. As mentioned the Arcane Archer is sort of a weapon master of the bow.
