three swords are one, or two....

Post  GM_ODA on Tue Apr 16, 2013 9:01 pm

bobtheunbeatable visited tonight, and requested (this post is so I do not forget) if a pair of sword items could have the power to be 'linked' into a single, double ended sword item, and back again. That could be interesting methinks.

Thank you bobtheunbeatable for sharing.

Be well. Game on.

As in Longsword A's hilt attaches to Longsword B's hilt to become a two bladed weapon?

i believe so, or shortswords even, such can actually make a multi-use weapon, but to figure out how to make it work would be difficult

The two ended weapons in NWN always bothered me as they have no historic equivalent. In matters martial, when wielding a long reach weapon (like a polearm or sword) where a business end was meant to meet the enemy, there is always the opposite end meant to accomodate the wielder. Frankly, you're more likely to disembowel yourself with a double ended sword than take down your enemy; having that backended blade means you cannot do MANY very effective moves you could with just an ordinary sword.

That said, it is a fantasy game.

Still, I could not bring myself to use those things in game until now, when I have an idea (thanks bobtheunbeatable) that could at the least make such things interesting ... ala combining like weapons.

Be well. Game on.
