Can we please consider a river transportation system

Can we please consider using fishing boats and barges as well river boats to travel large distances on the river?
We could have a few small villages to get off the boat. Or perhaps a few of the larger islands can have fishing camps on them.


Can the dms builders and player please add their two cents.

We do have the ocean-going system already, so perhaps with a bit of modification one could be similarly made to utilize the river passages. More ways to get to far away places than just walking could prove advantageous. More options and such.

Plus we can add in additional islets, islands, and other encounters. You know, fight off a giant turtle or other river dwelling creature, or even bandits while drifting down the river for an action-filled trip.
