This is unfair. Many people maybe doing what Oda has asked but prefer not to advertise that fact.

Many people work behind the scenes and play in game.

Many donate but decide to remain secret.  Many have RL concerns which rightly take priorty. Just because there is no verbal remark does not mean people do not care.

Any and ALL help is appreciated, even those tho post 'encouraging others' to shoulder the wheel, be that by posting in ways that invite others to join (both on other forums, WIKI posts, and the like), donating to the server hosting fund, logging hours on the server (bug reports, helping new PLAYERS), etc.. IT ALL HELPS. Especially in that it takes a load off my shoulders so I can focus on the things that need my attention rather than the things that others can do.

I'll attend to posting an update on the server funding this week - we have received more donations in the last couple weeks and I will be updating that thread about once each month (due now).

The important part is this, keep doing what you're doing, keep doing what you can. We all appreciate it. Everyone.

Close your eyes, imagine Valerion in a cheerleaders outfit, shouting encouragement to us in a very 'translated from German' way. OK, the cheerleaders outfit was for humor value, I hope it got you to smile. That done, read Valerions' post again it says 'seems', and THAT is key. What I take away from that is, the more we each do the less it 'seems that no one cares'.

Some of you do things that are more obviously helpful than others. Valerions' remarks are not specific, but general pressing to action of all who read.

Animayhem's excellent help with WIKIs and Facebook are among the more obviously helpful actions our PLAYERBASE engages in to 'show the love'. So too Valerions' many posts here, and on other forums.

Stay focused friends, remember, we're all rowing for the same destination.

It is vitally important to the survival of this server to GET THE WORD OUT that we are here. There are TWO primary threads in a general forum that need to see frequent postings as a means of telling those who do not yet play our server that this is an active and fun NWN PW.

This is not directed at anyone in particular but everyone.

I'm not making any new revelations in this post, if you've ignored my posts in this thread before you can and likely will continue to do so now.

Every game has a 'lifespan', usually in the beginning of that lifespan, numbers of players flock to the game, these persons new to the game tend to dwindle over time (as the game becomes 'old news', increasingly thought to be obsoleted by titles released more recently. This is normal. Still NWN has demonstrated an amazingly LONG lifespan, and it continues to draw some new players even now, with sales by gog.com and others. YOU can help promote this server among new players of NWN by posting REGULARLY on the gog.com threads/boards relating to NWN.

STALE OLD POSTS DO NOT GET READ so you constantly have to renew your message to the readers.

Posts by players are more compelling than posts by the maker (of course the maker thinks his product is great, but what do the consumers think?).

Players come and players go. RL takes people away from us at times, sometimes they return (actually more often than you might imagine, NWN brings players back). NWN still has PUBLIC boards dedicated to the game in general (as opposed to boards like this one which is focused on a single server).  To help bring in fresh blood, new players to help offset the atrophy of numbers that Father Time seems to mandate YOU need to post regularly on the public boards dedicated to NWN in general, to perform OUTREACH to the community and ensure that those who might be interested, are aware that this is an active server, with features worthy of note.

STALE OLD POSTS DO NOT GET READ so you constantly have to renew your message to the readers. These old threads need 'tickled' at least once every two weeks lest other fresher posts get the readers attention and draw them away before they ever see our stale old threads. *slaps reader in the back of the head*

I STOPPED DOING OUTREACH ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO - utterly unimpressed by the effort the playerbase was willing to put in as promoters of their 'favorite server'. The threads go stale for MONTHS without any player bothering to show some love. WTF do you want from me? Do Erin and I have to do EVERYTHING? To your credit there are a few among you who do help around here, but precious few. We have had some excellent player created material offered over the years (specifically the Wiki and maps) and we have been blessed with some very generous cash donors - but, the only way new players find US/OUR SERVER is if YOU help point out the existence of the server, wiki and such. New players are not psychic, quit pretending that 'they should know' and HELP THEM GET THE MESSAGE THAT WE ARE HERE. PLAYER posts are most effective. Get out there and do them, do them regularly, or your 'favorite server' will close.

Wake up now, the lazy-stoogefest is over. Wiggle your fingers over the keyboard and start posting cause tomorrow will be too late.

HOW TO POST (EFFECTIVELY):

Spread your posts out over the course of a month. Rather than post on every board (or even a bunch of them) all on one day, make one post or two each week spread among the various boards. This will help ensure that we keep 'current' posts overall. Anytime you see a thread with a post more than a week old, feel free to post there. Initially, make your post in a word processor, so you can take advantage of spell checkers and other tools you may enjoy from your favorite word processor. When you have that text 'just right' then copy/paste it into the board as a post.
