'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
SO Grace was wandering the wilds, smack bang in the middle of the Urzhnark Thrh'h wilds (Middle square of that grid) and bumped into an old druid who said 'welcome to my home' so, Grace eager to talk to an older druid, went up to say hi.
And got accused of being a murderer of innocent animals (I guess my animal kill count might be a tad high from badgers and deer)
And then he attacked her and now I'm infected with lyconthropy of some kind.
Uh...
I guess this is IC, but I'm not really sure if it should have happened or not..

Also, went to talk to the druid again once he calmed down to check- he didn't attack me this time. It may be because I spoke to him while I was in malamute form

Re: 'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
Deers don't count if you eat them, Rats don't count either.
Badgers count...
If not transformed yet you can remove lycanthropy simply by finding the right plant... Belladonna, it must be picked fresh

Re: 'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
Could badgers be made no hostile to druids then? XD
I try to avoid the angry buggers when wandering, but because they come in two's if I animal empathy one, the other still attacks- and they have such low health that if my char auto attacks 'splat' >.<
I've been cured, but this does bring up the topic of how lycanthropy fits with Shifters. I know the script is pretty complex anyway, so I'm not going to ask you to change it even more for one class. It was just a point of curiosity- in 3.5 'Master of many forms' edition of shifter, epic shifters couldn't suffer transmutation effects unwillingly, or be forced to change essentially.
Prehaps this could be implemented in such a way that epic shifters are immune to lycantrhopy? This doens't really help me for a while, as Grace won't be an epic shifter until she reaches lvl 30 which is a loooong way away.
Its just a response to how shifting and lycanthropy can work together- I don't see why regular shifters would be immune to Lycanthropy, and why the two shapechanging abilities couldn't work together, as a regular shifter can control their transmutation abilities well, but not fully. But for epic shifters is seems a bit odd if they can't control their transformations.

Re: 'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
Okay- I did cure it by eating belladonna, Erin can vouch for this- but due to the server crash Grace logged on as a werebear. And Now I'm bugging -very- badly. I keep dying due to my lycon bar being empty, despite killing loads of deer. And I can't see my bar to change it. I need soe DM help on this- Tried to RP it as not curing in time or whatever but honestly I don't mind either way- I'd rather just stop dying every 5 minutes

Re: 'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
Okay, update on the situation. Decided to leave her infected on a coin flip ac ICly she would have been infected (Old Druid hates her XD) and she would have thought she was cured. The munching on Belladonna was due to me noticing OOC things like the messages of far off bears becoming passive and it was to see if it'd hurt her- I didn't know it would cure her.
So after the server crash and the belladonna being undone, Grace transformed. We rolled with this ICly, another player with a werewolf trying to keep her out of trouble and find her deer (He's a wolf, so that's what he craves for). We didn't know it was honey needed so ended up dying a lot. DM Darkness helped the Honey Hunger and then I decided to flip a coin on whether Grace would be cured, as one one side I had her kinda ICly being cured before reset and also ICly roleplaying being infected after reset. She lost the toss XD.
However I am having a lot of bugs. Grace kept turning into a dwarf (I was getting 'wrong race' messages if that helps) and now she can't turn back from werebear form at all. I've sorted the hunger problem out- it just seems to be an appearance problem at the moment. Valerion checked me out with a cleric to see what the scripts would tell him. He probably understands the situation more, but what I understood was that Grace is still infected and is a Lycanthrope. (My race in my character sheet still says human as well, if that's important)

To be exact, the message my cleric got when he tried the Diagnose ability on her was : "Grace Fennerset is a brown bear and there is no silver apparent"

Re: 'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
Uh sounds like the lycon hasn't processed, the going in in bear form due to crash weirdness sounds like the reason. A DM can fix this with the 'Lycon System' - 'Process Extras' option on the Wand of Misc Tools.
Once a DM dose this you will end up with some cyan gem items probably called 'Werebear' and 'Werebear skills'
Logging off with these items in the inventory is best to do if your going to be leaving the PC for some time, ie before dinner or such like.. Cause the server may be about 15 minutes before it actually processes the PC (It reads the list every 15 minutes).
You will know in this case when its safe to relog that PC, it will have the 'Shapechanger' race on the PC chooser.
That should fix the dwarf appearance, the wrong race message, get you some more STR, etc (Bears are strong).
As for clerics, Clerics with Animal domain or enough heal skill can diagnose a lycantrope's state, pregnancy, unfortunately this seems more a failure of a system to run rather than a IC thing that can be diagnosed (Silver poisoning & pregnancy (lycons only), drugs, parasites, etc that the Clerics can diagnose in any targeted PC).

That is proper if they are healthy and not in a cycle flux. As Eri mentioned clerics can diagnose other things as well. Charia has been able to diagnose pregnacies, silver poisioning and what cycle they are in.
It has made for some interesting rp.
Also if still early cannot remove curse be cast and return the person to normal?

Re: 'Old Druid' and lycanthropy
What happened with the cure curse:
Grace no longer had the option to turn into her lycon form, but did not receive the prompt. Later, when wondering around I noticed odd things- like messages saying random bears were now passive and when I tried to pick belladonna Grace would drop it and run away. So I ate it XD. Something like the portals- three stone arches and the spirit lady screaming- happened and I got the prompt Grace was cured. It crashed a little while later and upon logging in Grace went Rawr.

Eh, also If a dm could offer that Fix to Grace, it would be good- human again but so is my race. I also can't use stools for some reason..
