The Cactus cannot be opened, the model seems too big and the character cannot get close enough to the trigger point to open it.

In my minds eye the PC walks up to the cactus, hand outstretched, pauses, turns looks up at the PLAYER through the screen and says "You can touch this one your darned self!"

 I reported this awhile back. It is probably buried in this forum somewhere. No matter where it grows it can not be damaged at all it is set to immortal.
