Countryside Shakedown

Over the past several days for those that have been traveling the countryside of Rural Dohral and Tivook you would have have noticed a disturbingly increased amount of 'bandits' who have been 'taxing' the local peasant farmers, stable owners, and the rural inns for some time. There has also been sightings of highwaymen who bluntly stand guard on well traveled routes and charge a 'toll' in order to pass they even have gone as far as raiding trade caravans and robbing nobles out right - or they threaten violence or simply scare you away unless you choose to pay. Although there has been clashes between these highway robbers and citizens of Dohral - it hasn't been enough. Lately bandits have been seen with markings of some kind, and strange armor that is clearly not obtained by some common criminal, not to mention they seem to be flying under the same banner. Given their recent success with their ill gotten ways to obtain goods and gold they have managed to put trade between the cities at a standstill, at least, temporarily.

Strange allegiances seem to be forming between the bandits, Elves, Humans and even orcs are seen under the same banner. Someone seems determined to have those with criminal backgrounds come together, regardless of race or beliefs - and it is working for their benefit.

More is yet to be seen, and as players figure out more into this situation, more shall be revealed.

Rumors spread of a skirmish that had taken place to the far west of the Tivook inn near the pathway to Humfaoo, apparently a witness reports hearing loud roars of sorts - followed by bright flashes of light and the sound of a short, quick, and deadly battle. Witnesses who arrived to the noise found bodies of many apparent bandits. as they were identified by their green snake insignia on their clothes and shields - in the forest pathways of the area. A witness managed to see a group of travelers leaving the location shortly after the infamous bandit chief "Varrus Letho" A massive man was walking weaponless with two of his colleagues off to the river area. Needless to say after these events transpired citizens will notice the roads are alot quieter of late. The bandits who were originally hassling citizens and travelers on the roads haven't been seen in a few days - and reports of raids on caravans and trade routes have ceased...
