Target the Rune Stone on the floor and choose Stonecunning.

While in a cave this can lead you to veins of minerals and gems and even secret passages hidden in the rock.

Dwarves make good mining party members with their ability to locate useful minerals.


Dwarves also get racial skill bonus in Smelting and Forging of +10 to their craft rolls.
