The evil god of a alternate evil character (Aria Liadon's evil god)

Post  Absol 13 on Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:29 pm

So bear with me here this is a bit odd but here goes:..
SO my original Aria(Liadon) got bugged (zombie bug) and i made another Aria(Lindon) and then i tryed the first aria(Liadon)
only the find the bug gone but she had no equipment..so what did ODA suggest?...
Well he suggested that I used her as a Alternate character that appeared from wild magic(the cause of it all!)
and then after a lot discussion i decided that i would make her(Liadon not Lindon) into to a evil(over done i know -.-) Cleric!
But here is the question i now pose you?
What will her god be called?
What will her god's domains be?
And what will the description be?
please suggestion's wanted(but no silly one's please)

If this has been approved by Oda? I've got a lovely idea. "The Faceless One" would be his deity title. "A grey figure without a face, looming in his realm with a lack of color beyond different shades of grey, and swirling winds. The entity is gaunt, frail and appears akin to a doppelganger but of immensely disturbing proportions it is said that stairing into his face which he does not bear will drive one to insanity. He seeks to obtain everything as to further satiate his desire to fulfill his lack of attachment to anything in his eventless and imageless prison. A pocket plane known as "The Grey Gloom".

"His followers are said to believe that he is their creator in the events of birth, the gift to blend in and live life normally if they would merely tap into their power. In turn those that worship him are tasked with infiltrating societies to learn and immerse themselves into society, even going so far as to bring mates of said societies to further "The Faceless One's" following. As well to use their gifts to elude all the other races to safeguard his followers as a means of protection, to hide them from all harm if his power is used properly so that they might prosper."

"The Faceless One" is a Lesser Power deity, with the TN alignment. His clergy is anything neutral. His chosen race are the Doppelgangers as they are what it most relates to in empathy. His favored weapon is his own body. His portfolios are Shapechangers, Mimicry, Disguises, and Lies. His domains are Change, Ooze, Shadow, Trickery, Protection, Secrets. (Trickery & Protection In Game for cleric domains).

Dogma: Spread yourself amongst the world and grow. Infiltrate the 'worlds' of the other races including your own so that you might adapt further and increase your power. Society is ripe with learning and will fill your desires seek them and become them. Breed with the other races to ensure that our numbers do not dwindle and weaken their will to destroy us from within their own.

"Shifters, Druids, Wizards, and Sorcerers can all perform methods of shape changing in one way or another so they all make excellent class sources to seek to worship 'The Faceless One' but races are not a requirement, simply the desire to change." - Crescent Black, hope this will do. Very Happy

Uhm.. now that I think about it, perhaps I should clarify. If your thinking of evil-twin RP, you could consider the evil twin is a doppelganger cleric of the forementioned "Faceless One". Just an idea if that wasn't your plan in the first place.

That's not too bad but I feel it's a bit too neutral for me..at least in my opinion.

Funny thing about doppelgangers. Is they are neutral due to their races nature. If you would look up whatever information you can on them? You'd see plenty of clarification as to what makes them evil. Think of Dark Link from the LoZ series. A shadow entity that takes on links forms and counters all he does. But doppelgangers in D&D are all TN except perhaps those from Ravenloft, those are all NE. But are still doppelgangers.. they were called "Dread Doppelgangers" that may in fact be what you seek, is a Dread Doppelganger. If such is the case I warn you, they are stronger than Greater Doppelgangers.. which Greater Doppelgangers are fearsome shapechangers, they can eat your brain after your dead and thus take on all your class features, abilities, facial structure and more. And they store it in their minds but are limited to a set amount, going over that amount they have to make a save or else lose a randomly chosen 'Persona'. This is canon and I've read on them. So if your going against something as wicked and difficult as a Dread Doppelganger.. I got a saying from my dad which goes like this. "Put your head between your knees and squeeze and kiss your ass goodbye" Very Happy Basicly they are so deadly it's in my opinion, just fine. The deity themselves don't always have to be directly evil to be a frightening force.

I can see what you seeking however, an evil deity with an evil char. However since I don't really know your RP situation beyond the 'evil twin' which sounds to me like a Doppelganger of some sort, the decision is yours, but as from all I've read, 'most' doppelgangers are TN through and through, based upon their history. But.. this is a custom setting, so up to player discretion and Oda's approval. Smile

if your still in need of an idea for an evil god why do you need to make a new one? from what i understand faylyna would make perfect sense. the clone is created through wild magic, and feels dejected. as if she's missing something. she grows angry as she cant remember(clone doesnt have memories the original has) and starts cursing the gods. Faylyna comes down and comforts her(she is the goddess of loss and misery after all). There's already a plethora of awesome gods here, try giving em a try?

ps: yes this is shameless advertisement trying to get my goddess more followers.

Deity: Void
Home Plane: Vacuum
Pseudonyms: He who never was / The Dreamer / The Endless Chasm / Lord of broken Dreams
Alignment: CE
Symbol: A Dark Orb

Void is a being that is beyond old even to the gods; as much a force of nature itself as it is a being. It is in essence; the very embodiment of emptiness in all its forms. Be it the darkness of the deepest cavern or the emptiness of a broken heart. Void has an omnipresent ability to know his domain in its fullness. His primal nature makes Void more dangerous than even most greater Deity's as he can only be truly destroyed if his bastion of power (emptiness itself) no longer exists.

The home plane of void (and the center of his influence) sits at the center of the great wheel and at the top of the spire. It is at this single point that the energies of all planes cancel each other out creating a singularly perfect vacuum. With the exception of Void no other life can exist on this plane (be it of life or un-life) for any prolonged period of time. The only notable exceptions to this rule are the planes native inhabitants, beings of living darkness that are the decedents of those on worlds destroyed by void.

His most feared power by far is often known as "The Unmakeing". Should he gather enough of his power onto any single plane void has the innate ability to tear the very fabric of reality apart on that affected plane. Its creatures being turned to shadows or vanishing into the plane of vacuum.

I'm thinking of using this which is Shars input Very Happy but he needs a domain(maybe trickery and knowledge?)
so Input please Very Happy
