Unusual Activity: Kragfel Cliffs

Elowir arrives in Kragfel by following the road south and breaking away before it turns away to go further south.
Within minutes of entering, he comes across a hastily set up camp which was broken just as fast. . The fire smolders and all signs point to those that were here going west.

Elowir aproaches the remainings of the camp, he whistles cheerfully, trying to mimic the sound of the nearby birds, he gets to the center of the camp, glancing the surroudings carefully, with his ranger skills, he tries to pick up some answers from the ground. Tracking, how many of them were in this camp? How long since they left? Did it even matter getting all this info? ... "Probaly no, whatever, I'll just move on.". Giving one last look around the camp for anything worth, he moves to the west.

Rubbing his chin, he wonders why such a hurry, Elowir prefers to wander alone, but he doesn't mind just stopping by and saying 'hello'.

The camp was emptied about an hour ago, signs of a few groups of people sleeping, while a single smaller group maintained a fire and kept busy.

Near the fire, you find a simple, small jewelers box which (after you peek inside) you pocket.

Since they leave a pretty obvious trail, and it's in the direction you were going anyway, you decide to follow it west along the stream.

Elowir puts in his pocket the not-so-small golden ring, along with the other item, adjusting his bag on his back, he moves onwards to the direction which the other's were gone.

After some moments following west along the river, something reminds Elowir that he should've made a breakfast before leaving the Inn, and the reminder came from his belly, a ferocious growl. He taps his belly and moans in regret, then rummages through his bag for something to ease the hunger. Nothing... Time for a ranger job.

He readies his bow that he carries with himself very often, readying one arrow, that's all he'll need. And strays aside from the course to hunt his meal.

Stepping through the woods quietly, Elowir focuses on the woods around him. It doesn't take much walking before he hears the shuffling of a wild boar.

Elowir steps back to orient himself facing the creature. There's about 80 feet between them and the woods block the view from each other. You can hear the heavy intake of air as the boar sniffs the air, and your scent. It grunts once, and you hear the sound of dirt being thrown twice.

Elowir aims carefully at the boar, he's not as good with a bow as he's good with the katana's, but it's worth a try. One shot, one kill, at least that's what he hopes for.

"Nothing personal, it's the cycle of life."

He sights deeply, and after exaling, the arrow flies.

Your first arrow strikes the boar in the side as it bursts through the treeline, you cause it to break it's momentum briefly but as your second arrow whizzes by the boar is at full speed once more and lowers his tusks for a dangerous end to his charge.

Having had an arrow knocked and ready to fire, you fail to dodge out of the way in time and are knocked to the ground and grazed by the razor sharp tusks.

Knockdown and -7 Slashing damage

Elowir reaches for his katanas, quickly throwing the bow aside and trying to stay up.

"Dammit, I was never good with that thing anyway..."

The boar vets around, facing you and beginning another charge.

You wait until he gets closer, then as it's too late for him to veer away you step to the side.

Boar Attack. (11+7=18)
Elowir Reflex (9+10=19)

You pivot on your feet, swinging both arm and blade downward

Elowir Attacks (2+18=20 vs 17)
Boar takes (9x2=18+4=22slash+7fire+3slash=)32 damage.
Boar has died.

The boar rides out the rest of its momentum before collapsing to the ground in a heap of smoking flesh

Elowir smirks, his meal is served.

He picks up the boar and goes near the river. Leaving the dead boar 6 meters away from the river, he takes off the cloak and puts over the boar and goes to get some dry wood to make a firepit.

After scouting ahead, Grim doubles back to walk with the group and eat.

So far, nothing exceptional has been found, save for the trail your following. It seems that after felling a few trees, the group built a few makeshift wagons before continuing.

No one can help but notice the troubled look on Lia's face as she walks

After coming back with the firewood, Elowir makes a firepit a few meters away from the river, putting some rocks around it, and cleaning out any dry leaves, making sure that the preaparation for his meal does not cause any 'accidents'.

He roasts the boar's meat and eat it, leaving the sooner as possible.

Before leaving his camp, Elowir checks the jeweler's box on a whim. Then he heads back to the river and continues to follow it west.

As Elowir walks along the river towards west, he keeps looking at his surroudings, often stopping for a moment to listen to the wind, and whatever may be nearby, but the box's contents refuse to leave his mind.

As he often stops to glance around, he take the contents of the box, they seem changed, the golden ring now is now smaller, enough to fit into his finger, he feels tempted to use it, but if the ring had the magic to change that way, who knows if it has some unknown effect on the wearer? He gives a closer look at the ring, he has some skills with magic and its effects, after analyzing it and discovering whatever effects/magic properties the ring has, he puts the ring on his pocket again, and moves onwards.

Grimtooth, noticing that Lia looks concerned, walk up to her not too close, knowing that she still dislikes gnolls- not his fault but all the same he tilts his head and looks at her
"err.. Miss Lia, something be wrong?..."

*looks up at grimtooth and sighs a bit* this might sound crazy but last night at the camp. i felt something during my reverie not sure what it was. I don't think it was the same thing that i felt when i was scrying it didn't have the same hostile feeling that one did. I don't know maybe i'm going crazy and feeling things that wasn't there but i just can't shake the feeling. and heading into kragfel what ever is out there isn't friendly and has some dangerous abilities that he can do with the mind

HE frowns (or waht looks like a frown, never can be sure with him, or gnolls)
Get mind protected incase, will see if charia has anything too, best to approach carefully,we not know waht we walking into.

Joining the river and following it west once more, it runs into a small cove where some men are hard at work building several rafts while others prepare wood from carts loaded with recently felled lumber. At the moment they don't seem to have noticed you, and continue with their work with steady determined (and rather quickly) pace.

As you walk the trail of felled trees, it looks like they cut trees down directly in their path, one at a time. After a few hundred feet, signs of another rudimentary wagon are found.

*frowning as she looks at all the felled trees, She mumbles a prayer to Deeproot for the fallen trees as she follows. She lightly touches what is left of the trees quickly as follows the group. As they get to a place with signs of weagon found.*am curious to what the wagons are for

Elowir keeps his distance from the workers, he doesn't try to hide, but doesn't get in their sight too, he goes near a tree nearby and leans against it, staying under its shadow, and watching the people, considering if he should or shouldn't approach them.

Grimtooth look over the wagons and sniffed at the air, trying to discern any fresh scents, He sighed what was the point of this, waht did it achieve?, an Escape .. a new road... or something worse?...He turned around and barked at both Lia, Charia and the ten men
"Search wagons and nearby tree, look for anything, clue, be helpful?..anything may help figure why they do this. Lia you be asking trees, nearby birds, Please?.."

*Lia sets up next to some trees and fallen trees as she begins to pray to deeproot. She then begins to cast the spell speak to plants asking them for their help and what ever knowledge they can share about the men and the wagons*
