nwn enhanced?

We are still awaiting a response from Beamdog on our questions (see prior post). In the meantime we _are_ exploring the NWN:EE software so as not to totally waste time here.

Please bear with us as we wade through the 1's and the 0's.

Just a follow-up. Eriniel and I continue to explore and evaluate the NWN:EE offering. Look for a more illuminating post in the near future (I did not want anyone to think we've forgotten this matter - we are still waiting for a reply to our questions from Beamdog, but continue to work through an evaluation of the NWN:EE offering).

Eriniel and I have made BOAT LOADS of progress in installing the nwn:ee on our various systems and ironing out any kinks. We'll be testing further in the coming days and will post here ASAP with more progress info as soon as we have some to present.

Eriniel and I waded through a few other (previously un-noticed) issues and got all the NWN:EE's talking to each other happily - so tomorrow we'll be doing a rather exhaustive set of tests on the EE server itself. I'll update you all tomorrow evening after we have accomplished our goals.

We do most definitely need your help in testing the module, but our initial tests (referred to in my last post) is a security review - so we'll be first using security tools to analyze for any vulnerabilities that we need to be aware of as administrators. This testing should take a day or two, and assuming all goes well, we _might_ be ready to test the module itself on the new EE platform as early as this weekend, if not then likely early next week. I cannot make promises about the start of testing but it will be _soon_.

I am willing to test as well I have EE already and will have a week off work starting the 28th of May so could do a couple of hours each day if you need it. Otherwise next week I could do some bits and pieces.
I am for my sins an ex-tester of software not games but websites, banking applications and payment systems. I am sure the methodology is similar so let me know if you want any help.
P.S I am in New Zealand so the time zone is GMT +12

Yes, we will need your assistance to test this if you are available, please do visit us often - we have 'bug report tools' that allow you to report both 'broken transitions' (which are exceedingly rare these days) and 'other bugs' which will likely be the most used tool for a while after the EE debuts.

Good news. Eriniel and I have been testing the NWN:EE server (ensuring ourselves there are not any cheap and easy backdoors or other security flaws). So far, we are encouraged by what we've found - many aspects of the software are improved and considerably more efficient (and you know how we love efficient things). Initially we tested only the CEP demo module. Tomorrow, we will begin privately testing our own module on the new server - a day or two after we've done our essential testing, we'll post a note here to let you know you can login too and begin helping us in the testing of the module as a whole.

MANY thanks to you all for your patience, your contributions and your willingness to help us with the testing. I look forward to meeting you all soon on the new server/module.

Argentum Regio is NOW AVAILABLE ON NWN:EE!

For the first week or two, we are asking everyone to make new PCs and test every system/thing you find. Give us feedback on all that works 'not right' and we'll sort it out as fast as we can. Once we've gotten a handle on the system and the like for a couple weeks we will then take requests to move your old PCs over to the new server.

Eriniel and I have done some preliminary testing and concluded that we need to manipulate some databases and related scripts before it is safe to let the server run 24x7 in NWN:EE - so, Eriniel has turned in for the evening's rest and will resume such activity tomorrow. I believe we will have the server open for you all to begin testing tomorrow evening (east coast time). Watch for our Argentum Regio listing in the server list, and you can also watch for my announcement of 'open server' here (later tomorrow evening).

EVERYONE will have to make new PCs and use those for a couple weeks until we are sure the essential databases are all responding as desired, at that time we will begin taking requests to migrate individual players 'folders' (all their old PCs) to the new EE server.

Expect to see players who are new to the server. Please, as always, help us welcome them to Argentum Regio.

UPDATE to the NWN EE module being made live now, server should be ready for use within 15 minutes.

UPDATE for the NWN server due later this afternoon.

I hope to hera from you ALL here on the forum (bear in mind I cannot be on both servers at once so - you may find me hard to locate on one or the other server ... I will try to visit both on occasion.

Did you update to NWN:EE 1.75? We did not yet update the server to this new version so if you did then that would explain the mismatch. We will likely update the server to 1.75 later this week - the bug that prevents some servers from being listed with beamdog is fixed in this new version (they say) - but we've been experienceing intermittently that 'no listing' bug with 1.74.
