SERVER IS DOWN / NEW SERVER IS BEING SETUP

THIS is the kind of service we pay for here.

The server logs were showing heat issues again - could be caused by a few things, but because this was a recurring problem and the last occurance met with the replacement of the heat sink and cooling fan - it was determined the cause was more serious.

in 20 minutes from the service request being made, the old server was pulled the drives transfered into a new machine and it is online. Erin and I are reviewing the new host machine now and will get the NWN server operating asap.

We very rarely make any calls to tech support at our server hosting provider.

One of the things I love about our server hosting arrangement is that we have autonomy - we can jigger with the works to our hearts content. This is not shared hosting, not managed hosting, this is a server we control totally. Sometimes, however, hands-on are required and I would like to take a moment to say this about the tech support we received from our hosts at hivelocity.net

SPOT ON TOP NOTCH SERVICE! When heat issues first showed up, they did the right thing, quickly replacing the obviously failing parts responsible for heat dissipation. When heat issues again arose they did the right thing, replacing the heat producing components (lol, the whole motherboard and all but the hard drives). In each case the system was returned to operation FAST, about 20 minutes or so.
