WINDOWS NWN Desktop Shortcuts

USEFUL for those who want to connect directly to our server:


   
1.) Begin by viewing your C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\ folder and locate nwnmain.exe.

2.) Right click on nwnmain.exe and click 'Create Shortcut'.'

3.) Right click the new shortcut and click 'properties'. Rename it to the associate with our server in some way so it is easy to recognize.

5.) Click on the Shortcut tab. Click in the Target input box. It should contain a path that looks like this:

C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe

6.) Add the following text after the above (with a space inbetween):

+connect 96.31.77.127

7.) If you are configuring your DM Client to connect, the server has a password so there's additional text to add (again, with a space inbetween):

-dmc +password

NOTE : in place of above you would type the actual password. If you're a dungeon master, you should make two different shortcuts, one for you to directly connect as a PLAYER and one for you to directly connect as a DUNGEON MASTER.

9.) DONE! Click OK and close the shortcut properties dialog box.


To recap your 'target line' should look something like these:

PC Client: C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 96.31.77.127
DM Client: C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe -dmc +connect 96.31.77.127 +password

Your all welcome for this info. Also, I feel that i should note that the +password for the DM client should be followed by the actual password.

So it would read

C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe -dmc +connect 96.31.77.127 +password Derpaderp73


Obviously fake password by the way.

I've also noticed that the ip address needs :5121 at the end.

So:

C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 96.31.77.127:5121

With the new server's ip it should read
C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 96.31.77.127:5121
