I can't join the server

I have the GOG version of nwn, and I've done the cd key thing and installed cep. But everytime I join, I get to the character screen, chose the character I've made previously, and press play. The screen goes black for a while, then I get a message that says," Server response timed out. You have been disconnected." I don't know how to fix this.

Cep, CD key?.. Hrm, did you update NWN, tried any other servers?...Other than that... *thinking* "I can'e Do it cap'n"   No really other than that no clue..EDIT: Thinking more about it shouldn't stop you but, try updating it away, you dont update through NWN tho, I think you had to update externally somehow, gosh I cant even rrember

When you say you did the cd key thing, do you mean you got a unique cd key from gog.com and installed that new key for use with nwn?

Clarify this question and I will review the rest of the clues.

I got GOG to send me a unique key and I replaced with the one from my directory. Then I downloaded Cep 2.4 and put the files in their corresponding folders. I am able to join other servers, but not this one, and I really want to.

Try CEP 2.1 to 2.3 there might be problems with 2.4, I am no tech master tho.

I would try an earlier Cep, but I can't find any, do any of you have a link that is still up?

As a PLAYER ( to login and PLAY as a PC ) any CEP 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 or 2.4 will work fine. It is only as a BUILDER that things require we use CEP 2.1.

I have now even tried it with other versions of cep and I'm still getting the same error.

I am a little confused. Please pardon me asking lots of silly questions as I try to dispel my confusion.

You say there is a PC in your folder on the server. This would imply that you successfully logged in prior to this. What has changed since then? I see your PLAYER folder was created only a few days ago, so hopefully not much has changed. Were you using the same CD KEY when you made the PC in your folder?

can you tell me the names of the files in your

C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\tlk

  folder please?
